Comment 2018-07-22 04:57:09 @pocketechange    I prefer having something on hand that will circulate without the use of Batteries... I'm with you there. I almost missed a flight once when I tried to pull up my boarding pass at the gate and the reception there was terrible. The wi-fi wasn't working, so I had to run to the counter and cut in front of everyone so I could get my pass. I made it with only a few minutes to spare. Now, I get that pass printed. Can't beat it.
Comment 2018-07-22 04:55:12 @mrchef111   Hey, at least you're learning and the lesson helped you to modify your behavior. That's supposed to be the point, right? Here's to another year of safe driving for you!
Comment 2018-07-22 04:53:57 @silverd510   Right on! Something to look forward to. I really need to get a reserve $200 that I can leave in my wallet so if a killer deal comes up on something like that then I can just buy it!
Comment 2018-07-22 04:52:42 @janton   There are some really cool western coins that some of the other guys and gals have. I haven't been able to get any yet since I'm still only buying locally, but I got that Turtle coin after wanting it hard enough, so I'm just going to start wanting the western rounds as much as I can and hopefully they'll arrive sooner than the three months it took to get the turtle. ;)
Comment 2018-07-22 04:50:39 @mrchef111   Glad to hear you're a hot dog enthusiast. I understand not liking sauerkraut. A lot of people don't. I decided to like it and then after a few times of eating it, I started to really enjoy it. The executive membership at Costco is $110, but they give you 2% back on all your purchases. If you don't get enough of a rebate to make up for the additional $55, then I believe they give you a check for the difference. The idea is to get you buying more things there, so they make up in volume what they lose on the rebate. If you can share it with someone, then you may even come out ahead.
Comment 2018-07-22 04:47:18 @mrchef111   That's a bummer that it's basically the same fee. Hopefully it doesn't go on your record after all that though. I heard once that getting a ticket decreases your chances of dying in a car crash in the next year... even if it was only a slight decrease. Stay safe out there, buddy!

Comment 2018-07-22 04:45:00 @glenalbrethsen    Do you see a crypto dollar happening, though? Short answer: Yes. Long answer: Yes, absolutely. Expanded answer: Yes, the government already controls the money supply (well, the Fed does, but that's another story), but they wouldn't mind having even more control. If the currency is entirely digital, and if it can be tracked completely, then they can know where every dollar is going, and if you make a transaction, or earn money from something, they could tax you on it right away. They could even take it from your wallet without your permission. A government crypto currency would be the antithesis of decentralized. It would be more centralized than we've ever seen. Yes, governments want crypto currency, and the USA will introduce one. Note: Just my opinion. Do your own research. Regarding businesses and crypto: The point is that businesses need to know how much money they'll be getting. Most can't just be accepting less money than the sale price. It's not good business. Most companies would have a difficult time absorbing a 14% drop in their revenue on sales. It might be ok one time, but if it happens repeatedly, it can be difficult to survive. Certain industries have less wiggle room than others. Back to Costco: I believe they operate on something as low as a 14% margin. I could be wrong, but at one point I believe it was that low. Granted, they make most of their profit from selling the memberships, but if a company isn't selling memberships, they need that margin to stay whole. (unless they're liquidating something to free up space for merchandise that's moving). Am I on track here at all?
Comment 2018-07-22 04:36:03 @janton   I haven't seen an ugly one, but if I did, I might buy it because it was unique. I don't really prefer some of the generic rounds. If it has the Buffalo design, I probably won't get it anymore because I have some already and I try to look for new designs. I like to mix it up so I have plenty of different coins and bars to look at. It makes it more interesting for me. That's just me though.
Comment 2018-07-22 04:34:06 @silverd510   I also found out that there's a 10 ounce version of this coin, and rather than just being bigger, it's zoomed out a bit so you can see another lion next to them. And THEN..... There's a kilo version of it that's even BIGGER and is more zoomed out with a 4th lion!!!!! on it. That's the one to get. You can even see mountains in the background.
Comment 2018-07-22 04:32:36 @silverd510   Do you collect proofs? I haven't gotten into them yet.
Comment 2018-07-22 04:28:27 @papa-pepper   I was impressed at how you just went for the tail. I guess that's the best way to keep it from using that tail against you. Still, scary! Ha ha.
Comment 2018-07-22 04:27:33 @glenalbrethsen   I've seen a few that have the outdoor food court. I like going to Costco. They have all the samples, and they normally have better prices than most other places. I used to eat their pizza fairly often, but I stopped a while ago. I've had a few since then, but like you said, it's rather greasy. Being at the mercy of one's wife shouldn't be too bad. Of all the people in the world, she's theoretically the one who loves a husband the most. I like letting my wife take care of things (if she wants to) because I know she has my best interests at heart. If she wants help, I'm also happy to do that. Being with my wife is one of my favorite things. I just realized we're not on one of our blogs. Ha ha. Hopefully our host doesn't mind our little conversation. He doesn't get pinged for each one, and he's pretty cool, so I don't think he will.
Comment 2018-07-22 04:18:48 @jorlauski   Yes! I would love to see pictures of your collection! Since I started posting on silver coins, I'm surprised at how many people have started to say that they have a coin collection as well. I'm trying to inspire people to collect more of it. :)
Comment 2018-07-22 04:17:18 @sbsparts   Man, you weren't messing around with that order. That's a lot of different gold coins. You know you're dealing with the good stuff when you have to say "only four 9s." Ha ha. I don't blame you for wanting more. I got my first 1/10 ounce gold coin a few weeks back and I had to put it away so I didn't get Dragon Sickness. I'm already struggling with wanting to get more silver, and I just don't have the money to go around. You don't have any great ideas for legally making a lot of money, do you? :D
Comment 2018-07-22 04:13:48 @goldkey   Those premium coins can be really nice. The shop I got to used to lump all the 1 ounce coins together which meant I could get some good deals on more premium coins (not like Libertads, but more rare generics and random coins they didn't have a lot of). Now they separated them out into "regular" and "premium." I have to pay an extra $1 each for the premium ones, but that also means that some coins with otherwise might be gone are still there because someone didn't want to pay the extra $1.00. Good for them for knowing how they want to stack, but I like getting those coins when I can. I got a few good scores today that I'm looking forward to showcasing soon.
Comment 2018-07-22 04:10:27 @galenkp   I've got a lot of work cut out for me. Better get on that... tomorrow. ;) Glad you made it back safely. I hope the cats are able to forgive you. They are probably just hurt that you didn't explain what was happening in Meowanese. Get some rest. And enjoy the last few days you have off while you readjust.
Comment 2018-07-22 04:06:42 @silverd510   Pit was saying that it was a weak strike on this one. I still haven't found out if it was on all of them, or just some. I'd like to get one with a stronger strike because I think it would be more... striking if there were more details. Sorry, I had to. :P
Comment 2018-07-22 04:05:12 @hananali   It looks like you've got a penny, a nickel, and some coin that I'm not familiar with. Do you see a lot of American coins there?
Comment 2018-07-22 04:03:24 @janton   Sure! I've seen tow trucks towing tow trucks. You just have to get a really large horse and put a special saddle on it. Then you get a little horse and put it in that saddle. Presto! You've got a horse riding a horse.
Comment 2018-07-22 04:01:57 @janton   You are rather particular on some of the coins and bars. I'll have to keep that in mind. Maybe I should put a notice on the posts that says "Approved for @janton viewing" if I think it will pass muster. If I don't, I'll just put a big Red "NO" at the top so you know to stay away. :P
Comment 2018-07-22 04:00:18 @tbnfl4sun   Nice! Everyone needs a break at some point, even those who run Steemit groups. :)
Comment 2018-07-22 03:59:36 @pocketechange    They won't go back to using half pennies again... There's really no need for that any longer... So you think that the use of physical US coinage is just a temporary stepping stone until they can get everyone switched over to using crypto? Just my preference, but if there's a clarification you are making, it's easier for me to see when you reply to the comment. Then I get a notification of a reply. Otherwise, it might get missed.
Comment 2018-07-22 03:57:15 @glenalbrethsen    there's just no way that $0.40 jump or drop in price is going to be worse than $1000 drop. What your conversation partner might have been getting at is this: You can lose more money by investing $7,000 in Steem at $1.50 and see it drop to $1.10 than you would be investing $7,000 in Bitcoin and seeing it drop to $6,000. For Steem, it's a 26% drop in value which would cost you $1,866 (if you sold). For Bitcoin, it's a 14% drop in value which would cost you $1,000 (if you sold). I think I get what you're saying. I have one stock that I bought 10 shares of. I don't even remember why. I saw it drop from $1.00 to $0.50. That means if I were to sell it today, it would be a $5.00 loss. I really don't care. At the same time, I could have a stock that tripled in price. But if I bought say 10 shares at $1.00 each (for consistency), then I would still only have a $20 profit. It's not nothing, but it's not going to pay the bills. So the actual dollar amount does matter. The real issue that I think we should be talking about is that in the USA a majority of the transactions are conducted in US Dollars. They also need to be able to pay their bills and can't wait around for a currency to go back up in price. Therefore, businesses need a cryptocurrency that is stable or fixed in its price. That's why SBD was so important for Steem. It was created to be a stable coin that would allow businesses to accept it in exchange for goods and/or services and the business would know that the value of that cryptocurrency would be the same tomorrow as it is today. They don't want to gamble and hope that it goes up. They want to know they'll be able to sell and use that money to pay their bills. That's my two cents. Find a currency that's stable or fixed so you can have predictability of outcome and then businesses will be much more likely to start using it. Hopefully there's one that gets some mass adoption before the crypto Dollar. Otherwise, that thing will just take over.
Comment 2018-07-22 03:43:48 @glenalbrethsen   I'm sorry, man. I hope it wasn't too traumatic for you to talk about it again. I know that it has been tough on you. Thanks for being brave and sharing your perspective. ;) I don't know when the cheeseburgers are supposed to be rolling out. I just heard one of the employees at Costco talking about it the other day when I was there. I actually like the food courts that are outside the store better. I think it helps keep the walkway to the exit more clear. The one I go to has the food court on the way out and people will almost block the exit with their carts while they're getting their food.
Comment 2018-07-22 03:40:27 @goldenarms   Wow, you even got the mix of the gold coins in there. Man, I'm a little bit jealous right now. But I'm also happy for you because I know that it must have taken a lot of work, and a lot of patience to build up enough capital to buy those. Well done!
Comment 2018-07-22 03:36:06 @papa-pepper   What a cool idea! I wouldn't have thought of that, but I think you did really well. How dangerous is it to get stung by a scorpion?
Comment 2018-07-22 03:33:09 @jorlauski   If you don't get to inspect the property until you have an accepted offer, then it would be paramount that you have contingency clauses. You wouldn't just go dropping offers on any property because the inspection costs would add up, but then you're at least serious about the property, but you have an out if it's not a good one. Yeah, they got burned good. I feel bad for them. I think they were able to get things fixed, but they had to eat the cost. You found that most of the piers in the foundation were missing?! That's insane! Seems like something that should have been caught in the inspection. That sounds like quite the story. Hopefully you were able to make your money up later.
Comment 2018-07-22 03:30:03 @mrchef111   Thanks, I"m glad you like the coin, and I appreciate the feedback on the photos. :)
Comment 2018-07-22 03:17:12 @sevinwilson   I don't know that I've ever had boiled peanuts. How are they different than roasted peanuts? One of my favorite snacks is gouda cheese and crackers.
Comment 2018-07-22 03:14:45 @humanearl   I have a family reunion tomorrow, so I won't be around, but I hope the drawing goes really well. Congrats in advance to all the winners. Use these generous delegations wisely. :)
Comment 2018-07-22 01:13:51 @uglysweater   I hadn't heard that quote from her before, but it's a really good one. It's a nice reminder to give ourselves a break and see the good, not just look at the messy.
Comment 2018-07-22 01:12:45 @davedickeyyall   Looks like you've got a nice setup there, Dave!
Comment 2018-07-22 01:11:36 @sbsparts   That is amazing! I was looking at their etsy page and it seems they don't have any more for sale right now, but that's super cool. What a nice prize!
Comment 2018-07-21 22:28:27 @upvoteshares   I mainly post on silver and precious metals, but I also post random ones on my garden, or if I get inspired to write fiction, I do that. I would like to start with getting one share as I don't have a lot of spare steem right now. I haven't decided who I would give the minnowshare to yet. I have a few good candidates though.
Comment 2018-07-21 22:21:06 @pocketechange   Ahh, so they're going to do the crypto coins at the same time, so you'll be able to use the fractions. I wonder if they would go back and mint 1/2 pennies and such?
Comment 2018-07-21 22:20:00 @hananali   Yeah, what do you do for work? And what coins did you see? You get any of them?
Comment 2018-07-21 22:17:36 @janton   I'm glad you liked it. It wasn't that much more than a regular Silver American Eagle. I'm glad I got it regardless. I got some cool, new designs to show you later this week. I think you'll like them. :)
Comment 2018-07-21 22:16:27 @janton   Thanks! It's going to be tough not to have anyone to name it after, but they could always call it "The Blondie effect." Or "The NoName Conundrum." Or "Horse Rides Again!"
Comment 2018-07-21 22:15:00 @gdwcoins   Nice! That's a good use of old forks and spoons.
Comment 2018-07-21 22:14:06 @glenalbrethsen   It seems that you're both trying to talk about different things, but are using the same words for it. I think a better way to frame the discussion would be using the word "predictable." Steem might fluctuate by $0.10, but it normally stays within that range. Yes, comparatively (by percentages), Bitcoin might be more stable in terms of less percentage change, but Steem will sit in the same range for a long time. As long as a business owner can price in that fluctuation, they'll be ok. The whole reason that SBD was created was to be a stable coin that was pegged to $1 so that we could get businesses using Steem for their transactions. If they knew they could have something that was going to be worth the same tomorrow as it is today, then they would be confident in using it. As it is, no one really wants it for anything other than using it to buy votes or exchange for Steem. If you're investing and trying to get short-term profits, you're better off getting Steem because bouncing between $1 - $2 gives you a chance to double your money. If you went with Bitcoin bouncing between $6,000 and $7,000 you only have a chance to make a 16.67% return. It really depends on what you're trying to accomplish. It's hard to say what is the right answer though because things are always changing. I would say if you're looking for it to be the same, or close to the same in value, look for something that is "predictable" not "stable."
Comment 2018-07-21 22:06:12 @mrchef111   Hey, man, just looking back through some of your posts. I had just been talking with @glenalbrethsen about how Costco discontinued the Polish dog, so I thought I'd tag him in case he wanted to weigh in. Also, he's good people. One thing I noticed that you didn't list for putting on your hot dog was sauerkraut. I believe they have it behind the counter, but you have to ask for it. (Maybe they offer. It's been a while for me.) I never got the kraut there as I like specific sauerkraut, so I would take the dog home and load it up there. The other tidbit I would give you is that you don't need to have a Costco membership to go to the food court. Some Costcos actually have them outside so you can just walk right up... but it's my understanding that you can just walk in the exit and go straight to the food counter. If you don't shop at Costco a lot, I could have just saved you $55/year. I have a membership though and I've been very happy with it. I buy lots of stuff there. That was a long comment for hot dogs, so sorry about that. Gotta run, but enjoy your evening!
Comment 2018-07-21 21:59:42 @mrchef111   That's a bummer. Hopefully doing the traffic school will keep you from having to pay a fine. Not the kind of schooling you want to get. At least you're going to get to do those other activities.
Comment 2018-07-21 21:57:48 @silversaver888   Yes, you don't want to overextend, or you might end up having to sell some of the stack to cover bills. You'll lose money on the roundtrip and be in worse shape than you would have been if you had kept the money. Also, you have to figure out which of your precious silver pieces you are going to give up.
Comment 2018-07-21 21:55:42 @humanearl   Has it been a month again already? Wow, time flies by. Man, it's really nice of you to keep doing these. I know a lot of my follower really appreciated you doing it the last time though. ;)
Comment 2018-07-21 21:49:09 @goldkey   Congrats on getting your first Libertad. Those are one of my favorite coins. When I first saw them I bought two because they were so striking. Hopefully you can get more eventually.
Comment 2018-07-21 21:47:39 @vgholdingsllc   Sorry you couldn't go camping this weekend. I know you enjoy that. The Geigers are great additions though. Should cheer you up a little. :)
Comment 2018-07-21 21:45:03 @gamer00   Hi, Nannu! Sorry you got scared on the road. People can drive weird sometimes.
Comment 2018-07-21 21:40:51 @gdwcoins   That's a cool stamp. You can help us mint precious bars. What fineness is the bar?
Comment 2018-07-21 21:37:06 @tbnfl4sun   I know they were behind a bit for a little while. Hopefully they're all caught up now.
Comment 2018-07-21 18:56:54 @pit-bullion   Is that why it looks rather smooth? No deep lines? I wonder if that was just this coin specifically or if that was how they made the die. Maybe it varies from year to year. I'll have to buy more to find out. Heh
Comment 2018-07-21 18:55:36 @ronaldoavelino   Glad you agree about the premiums. Hey, I've seen your posts. You do a great job of getting the angle and the lighting right. I don't know that mine are terrible, I just figure that if I can get some hints, then I can be even better.
Comment 2018-07-21 18:53:33 @glenalbrethsen   I'm not as big of a fan of Umpqua, although I have had it before. I like the Tillamook consistency better for some reason. I can't really explain it. I've only ever seen those three flavors in the jugs. Never strawberry on its own. Always in the cosmopolitan. I never really cared for any of those. If you're having a bunch of guests over, then you have to plan ahead so you can get the other stuff on sale and then stock it in your freezer. Then you'll be prepared. Plus side: if they don't show, you'll have lots of good ice cream to eat on your own! :)
Comment 2018-07-21 18:50:15 @mrchef111   Sounds like you actually have a lot on your plate today. Ha ha. Sorry, you've probably heard that joke a thousand times. I'm a big supporter of building community and being intentional about connecting with friends. Have fun! And enjoy the dinner with the girls. :)
Comment 2018-07-21 18:25:24 @galenkp    Don’t judge, but maybe I put on a kilogram or two Umm, I think I need help. All I read was "kilogram" and I got really excited that you had bought so much silver. Yeah, I think I have a problem. :P I'm sorry your vacation came to an end. Overall sounds like it was a glorious trip though! And you really got to bond with your niece which is such a treasure. Relationships are what make things worth it and for you to be able to invest in someone as young and sweet as her means that she'll have a better shot at succeeding in the world. Cry away, man. There's no shame in that. It's one of the ways you know it meant something to you. And who could blame you for caring about such a nice little girl, especially one who is your niece. :) Safe travels on the rest of your journey!
Comment 2018-07-21 18:16:27 @djohan   The hotel is so nice... and that view!!! Hopefully you're able to get a little time in the pool too. Because they have a slide. :)
Comment 2018-07-21 18:13:51 @welshstacker   I figured that was going to be one that you were partial to. A fire-breathing dragon is a fine animal to represent you! And now you have the coin to show everyone.
Comment 2018-07-21 18:11:12 @silversaver888   The Libertad is one of my favorite coins. The design is so beautiful, and now that I know more about the story, I like it even more. I haven't invest in the fractional ones because they are so much more per ounce, but I imagine I'll get there one day. Thanks for showcasing these!
Comment 2018-07-21 18:07:45 @bigram13   You can get so much done in that deadline-induced panic. If you don't get enough done, you might embarrass yourself, so you work super fast! Yeah, let us know when the party is and we'll swing by. :P
Comment 2018-07-21 17:58:09 @mrchef111   Aw, that's a bummer they don't have coins. Coins are collectible! Hey, it sounds like your Saturday just got planned out for you. Ha ha. Have fun!
Comment 2018-07-21 17:54:54 @teutonium   Good man! Keep that family close and the tv on. You never know when the next post is going to drop. :)
Comment 2018-07-21 17:24:39 @hebrew   Well, thank you. I've been through enough things that I can have some perspective and sympathy (if not empathy) on what people are going through. Pain and loss are never easy, so I shouldn't treat others' pain as trivial. My pain never was trivial. So I can understand what others are going through, even if my understanding is limited in their specific situation. I'm glad you included it. It's subjective to you, but it's true for you. And it's something that most people could at least conceptually understand. I think it helps makes your point. Although, it's possibly still painful for you and I'm in no way trying to diminish your loss. It does help demonstrate your point. Title, not name. That's a good clarification. Ok, that makes more sense why they have both of the words together. I noted that, but didn't quite understand. Your example of water is a good one. That is easily understood. They're all separate, but they're all water. I haven't read in Hebrew the parts where they were to destroy the carved gods. Now I'll be looking for it. It still amazes me how much more understanding you can get from something by looking at it in a different language. The subtle differences in the way the languages present ideas can provide a lot of perspective.
Comment 2018-07-21 17:11:51 @bigram13    if you can doge a wrench you can dogecoin Ha ha, that funny. I started making up little saying a while ago. I stopped for lack of internal inspiration, but two of them were "If you can dodge the dark, you can dodge a ball." "If you can dodge the dark, why dodge a wrench?" Don't think about them too much. I didn't intentionally put hidden meaning in there. ;)
Comment 2018-07-21 17:09:51 @stephen-somers   I have a few that are outstanding. I haven't had the best experience with getting repaid, but it's a risk that you take. One of the guys had a bad harvest and everything got wiped out. I lost a few dollars, but he lost his income and food, so I don't really have much room to complain. I still think it's a cool program. I would like to see more focus on sustainable projects. I see a lot where someone wants to remodel their house or something, which is not bad, but I have more a focus on helping them get chickens to sell the eggs, or seeds to plant a crop, or solar power so they don't have to buy as much fuel for cooking fires. Everyone has different things that they focus on though.
Comment 2018-07-21 17:05:54 @mrchef111   I just saw your comment now, so "tomorrow" is now probably "today," but just in case, most of the coin stores around me are closed on Sunday so if you're thinking of going on Saturday, you're probably good. If you're thinking of going Sunday, it might not work out so well. Normally I would let people figure out when their own stores are open, but there's one near me that's closed Sunday/Monday. I tried going on a Monday once because I didn't check the hours. The disappointment was rough. When you're anticipating silver and get none, it's a trying thing to deal with. I'll leave it at that. ;)
Comment 2018-07-21 17:02:48 @pocketechange   Alright, switch flip. I guess it's good that I have coins here that I had been searching through. If it happens tomorrow, I'll be set. Booyah! (Is that still a thing that people say? Ha ha) I wouldn't mind having a huge increase in the amount of money I had just because I kept a bunch of coins. Like when you find a quarter in your couch... it would instead be like $25. That would be cool! Here's another question for you: If you go to the grocery store and want to get a pack of gum, if it's only $0.50 or whatever, are they going to force you to get a second one so it's at least $1.00 (a physical penny)? How will change be given for these smaller amount since we don't have anything smaller than a penny?
Comment 2018-07-21 16:56:21 @glenalbrethsen   I'm sorry you've missed out. Missing it when you're sick is terrible because there's nothing you can do about it. You're in the right place at the right time, but you just don't have the right immune system to handle it at the time. As far as the women's activity, you couldn't wear a shawl or something? Ha ha. What's grandpa willing to do for cobbler? Store brand ice cream is definitely not the best, especially the one that comes in the huge five gallon tub. That one is disgusting. I wouldn't even bother with that. That "ice cream" would tarnish the flavor and reputation of all other things that are named the same. I think it should be illegal for them to call those tubs ice cream. I can't really even do Bryers or Dryers. They both taste off to me. Give me a nice Tillamook! Or maybe a small batch local ice cream. I don't mind what flavor it is, but brand does matter with ice cream.
Comment 2018-07-21 16:50:51 @glenalbrethsen   I still haven't read it so I can't say that it's worth your time because I don't know. Unless you had a personal relationship with the guy, it probably wouldn't be meaningful. Scientific method on Steemit?! Ha. There's only a 0.82% better chance of that happening on here than there is on facebook. And I did the math on that... which coincidentally was 50% of that 0.82%. So things aren't looking good. Ha ha. I cracked myself up. It's always good to know what platform masterminds are doing. They are the minds who are our masters on here, so the designation is fitting. There's a lot here that they control, or at least influence heavily and hold the keys to change.
Comment 2018-07-21 16:44:06 @glenalbrethsen   I was able to get most of them through the context. I remember a class in school where we were given words we likely wouldn't know so we could practice deducing the meaning from the context. It was actually really helpful. communicate through a series of grunts and pointless hand gestures. Yep, that's basically where we're headed. The state of the English language is in peril. Especially when teenage popstars on Twitter are the ones who are creating the way words are used for a majority of the population... or at least the future generations. OMG BBQ!
Comment 2018-07-21 04:56:12 @glenalbrethsen   I don't really discriminate when it comes to ice cream. It's pretty much all good in terms of flavors. The brands can be poor quality, but most flavors are delicious. That's strange that two cobblers could be baked and eaten without your participation. How's that happen? Are they just hiding them from you?
Comment 2018-07-21 04:52:57 @glenalbrethsen   The account he was talking about is "dimimp." It was in his latest post from the god account. You can read the post here. You can also read his post on why he turned his back on Christianity here. I haven't read it yet, I just noticed the link on my second glance at the first post. So I have no comments on it at this time. Even if he was just protecting it from trolls, I think he should have just left it alone. Seems a bit sacrilegious to me. Although his brother is religious, so maybe he just likes messing with his brother's head. Or at least trying to. Regarding knowledge about the system: I got a lot of that from a commentversation I had with tcpolymath. He explained it well. I can't remember where he posted it, so you might just ask him if you're curious.
Comment 2018-07-21 04:46:36 @janton   Alright, we'll leave it at that. :)
Comment 2018-07-21 04:44:27 @janton   Ok, so comprendo "comprende" but I don't understand my previous statement entirely. That was hubris. Ha ha ha. I mean, I sort of do, but I don't. Comprende?
Comment 2018-07-21 04:40:45 @janton   Yo comprendo. No comprende?
Comment 2018-07-21 04:37:39 @glenalbrethsen   It really is like another language. It makes sense why Shakespeare isn't so easy to read for most people who are used to modern English. And then there's the slang, like you said. It gets so confusing sometimes. Plus we started using LOLs IKR, and the like. Who can keep up? I miss when words were words, not acronyms. I guess I'm just old though. Stuck in between the OMGs of the youth of today and the Loony Bins and Yucks of yesteryear. Such is life.
Comment 2018-07-21 04:33:54 @janton   Heh, I'm not sure anyone is. Think about that! :D
Comment 2018-07-21 04:16:12 @janton   Ha ha ha, you're killing it with the jokes recently! That's funny. Yeah, I'm probably too biased because it's like a little silver child that needs my protection. Thanks for giving me some perspective. :)
Comment 2018-07-21 04:13:00 @humanearl   It's a shame for the fans, but if the team kept all the popular players, but the players weren't performing, the fans would turn on the ownership and say they were doing a poor job. It's really a no-win situation in that regard. So ownership/management has to make the tough decisions and hope for the best. In the end, winning is all that matters in professional sports. The last few weeks have been a bit rough, but it seems there's some light at the end of the tunnel. Having been in tunnels before, I know that it's best to just keep moving and eventually I'll emerge. There are things I could complain about, but that would just be whining and unproductive. I still have many blessings and things to be thankful for. Thanks for the kind sentiment. How are you?
Comment 2018-07-21 04:07:33 @janton   Picky, picky. Ha ha! Yes, they didn't do anything on the back, but I speculated it was so it could be personalized to the specific father. Just a theory.
Comment 2018-07-21 04:06:36 @goldenarms   Don't you just hate it when you forget one thing and have to go back? If you're there so much they should at least give you a key to the back so you can get your own packages. It would save them time. Ha ha. Enjoy your night as well!
Comment 2018-07-21 04:05:03 @glenalbrethsen   That sure did make me hungry again, and I just had fajitas for dinner again. I washed that down with Kombucha, and ate a cookie afterwards... so I would say that's nowhere close to a traditional Mexican dinner. Ha ha. You know what I could really go for right now? A warm peach pie with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side! MMMMmmmmmmmm! I may just have to go get some... but where to find it. Maybe I'll make one. Nah, I'll just wait a few more months until the peaches are more in season.
Comment 2018-07-21 04:01:00 @hebrew   We all have a choice to choose life or death. And we're constantly presented with options to choose. Often it becomes easier to continue choosing the same when when you've been choosing it over and over. It creates habits that make it more difficult to start choosing the other. I can see how certain thought processes have been making things more difficult for me in the last few weeks, so I had to change some of those. I'm trying to do better and will continue to try as the choices will never end until I'm gone. Hopefully that will be a long time from now. I have much left that I would like to accomplish. I had a huge breakthrough in understanding from this lesson! The ending im or eem in Hebrew is either plural or something that emphatically complete. When you were reading the part of the verses that included the word "life" I realized that the pronunciation for life was included in the word for God, Elohim. There's literally life in God. That's so cool. I also got a better understanding of who He is through His name ending in "im." As you said, that represents plural or complete. God is made up of three persons and he is complete, so He's both those. I didn't realize/remember that the word demonstrated that. Thanks for presenting it to us. On another note, I don't know what your history is, but you alluded to knowing the pain of losing a wife. I'm sorry for your loss. A wife is precious and to lose a good one would be terrible. I can only imagine that you're correct when you say it's like your soul being ripped in two. I'm sorry. Thanks for this post. It really encouraged me a lot. There were distractions and opposition to keep me from it, but I felt I should watch it and read it now before I let the moment pass. Thanks for being faithful to post your reading and study of the Word. It has been a light for me, especially in these last few weeks. Thank you!
Comment 2018-07-21 03:37:48 @pocketechange    you can up-vote any of my posts older than 7 Days Old and not lose any of your Voting Power... I did not realize that! I thought it was just wasted power because the payout had already passed. It will be interesting to see what happens. Do you think there's going to be a waiting period where we can all run to the bank and get even more coins? Or do you think it will be a switch where we wake up one morning and find that the money is different?
Comment 2018-07-21 03:32:03 @goldenarms   Man, you are raking them in right now. That's not a bad surprise at the old post office. I haven't looked much, but I haven't seen them in my parts either. Maybe britcoin can send some our way. Ha ha.
Comment 2018-07-21 03:27:15 @glenalbrethsen   It seems like there should be something different, but I'm not an expert, so I can't really claim to have the answers as to how they should do it. I do know that if they made it so whatever your vote was became what the person got paid (even after curation), then the votes values would go way down. There is a lot of SP that doesn't vote in each day's cycle, so it's not factored in. If you made the values absolute, then their value would have to count (including Steemit's SP) and the result would be our votes would drop considerably. I saw earlier that Dan was still hanging around (I think) using the name "god," of all things. Apparently no confusion as to how he sees himself. He had some quite large accounts that he was using to delegate and from what he said, he's going to burn the master passwords for that account, so his delegations will become permanent. I think they were mostly delegated to charity accounts and those who are trying to help others, but it will be interesting to see if there's any fallout from that. Irrevocable delegation? Sounds nice to be on the receiving end of.
Comment 2018-07-21 03:20:51 @glenalbrethsen   Thanks for adding the vocabulary list. It cleared a few things up for me. I was surprised at how many of them I didn't know. I liked the line you added at the end. That was clever. Don't worry about spending more time on this. I know you have a lot of interests and that you're spending a lot of time on other stuff. Thanks for writing this! It was a lot of fun to read, and to imagine that it was this token that I have.
Comment 2018-07-21 02:47:42 @little-peppers   They're getting so big! Good pictures, Pinkie Pepper. :)
Comment 2018-07-21 02:41:33 @djohan   That chicken and chili sauce looks delicious. The view is also very nice. You always find the nicest places to eat at.
Comment 2018-07-21 02:25:36 @bashadow   I haven't set too many trends in my life, so I'd take that as an honor. It might take me a while to write it, but I'll try to come up with something. Thanks for the use of your picture! :)
Comment 2018-07-21 02:13:48 @glenalbrethsen   I doubt the men showed up with strollers to demand it. It was more likely that someone wanted to score some political points, so decided to move forward with it. Then again, who really know? There are always layers upon layers of subterfuge in politics.
Comment 2018-07-21 02:10:21 @vgholdingsllc   Good for you. I wish I had met you sooner. I could have gotten a head start on all this.
Comment 2018-07-21 01:51:06 @vgholdingsllc   There's so much spam on facebook anyways that it probably makes no difference. And maybe one of them will buy something. Not only will you get a larger credit, but you will also have convinced them to start investing in precious metals.
Comment 2018-07-21 01:47:15 @kerrislravenhill   Ha ha ha, well, whatever it takes to get inspiration.
Comment 2018-07-21 01:44:21 @glenalbrethsen   I didn't realize that it wasn't officially celebrated until then. I would have figured that it would be much earlier. I'm glad you had so many chances to be with your kids while they were growing up. I'm sure they appreciated the time they got with you, if not then, at least now. Thanks, I really like it!
Comment 2018-07-21 01:20:30 @beekerst   I'm glad it fits. I got the original inspiration from the picture. :)
Comment 2018-07-21 01:16:57 @kerrislravenhill   Makes sense to me! I think it's a good fit. :)
Comment 2018-07-21 01:16:27 @vgholdingsllc   Such a great idea! Hopefully they make small ones so they're proportional. Get those referrals!
Comment 2018-07-21 01:02:54 @sbsparts   Five 9s?!! Wow, that's a lot. Wouldn't mind getting a few of those. Can't get much more pure than that.
Comment 2018-07-21 00:27:06 @brian.rrr   Ha ha ha, that was great! Thanks for giving us a realistic look into what can happen with fishing stories. I guess it's good I wasn't going to post pics of any fishing adventures because now people would know what I was trying to do. :)
Comment 2018-07-21 00:25:33 @vgholdingsllc   That's awesome that you were able to pay for it using referral credits! Good for you! I think it looks super cool to have Pacman on the cord. It looks like he's just going to keep going around and around eating it. Ha ha. Whoever decided to make that one was clever.
Comment 2018-07-21 00:16:36 @lynncoyle1   We all go through different phases, and it doesn't seem like it would be very feasible for you right now. You just do the best you can and see what happens.
Comment 2018-07-21 00:15:36 @lynncoyle1   Oh, well. I don't remember when I started being friends with most of my friends, but that's ok. It's the continuation of the friendship, not the beginning that matters.
Comment 2018-07-20 23:58:33 @janton   No, I don't wear baseball caps. And I don't really follow baseball either. Almost had me there, but no hats. Yeah, I could read the humor in there! It was entertaining. I liked learning things, so mission accomplished for both of us today.
Comment 2018-07-20 23:56:00 @goldenarms   Ha ha ha, well at least you're still getting come veggies! :)
Comment 2018-07-20 23:52:57 @janton   :D
Comment 2018-07-20 23:52:36 @janton   Thanks, man. I just have to wait for it to strike. And then I need some larger accounts to actually care about what I'm writing and decide to reward me. :)
Comment 2018-07-20 23:50:42 @sbsparts   At least there's some silver in there too, and you're kinda getting that for free, but I'd almost rather have the higher fineness. We'll see. I think the Canadian ones are .9999 so I might get those the next time.
Comment 2018-07-20 23:48:15 @mrchef111   I haven't bought anything online yet. I haven't had an abundance of money, so it's not worth it to buy stuff if I'm not going to get free shipping. Therefore, I go to the coin store with $50 or so and see what I can pick up. Sometimes it's only three ounces at a time, but that's still something. And if you find one that has a great variety, then you're going to get hooked very quickly. :)
Comment 2018-07-20 23:46:27 @goldkey   I'd love to catch some of them, but I have an issue with no having enough green to pay for it. Other than that, the interest level is high, so I just have to make more money! :)
Comment 2018-07-20 23:45:03 @lynncoyle1   Thanks for taking us on the walk. It was nice. It felt good to get out in the sun and soak up a bit of vitamin D. Sorry the beach is still a mess. That doesn't look like it would be fun to swim in... or even sit next to. I'm amazed the guy was lying in the water and seaweed. I wonder what they're going to do with the condo complex. It seems like if they already have most of the buildings put up that it would make more sense to complete them, but if they would still have to take out more of the forest, then I could see why they wouldn't. I don't know what kind of flower that is. It's very beautiful though! I wouldn't mind having some grow in my yard. That's a long pathway! I didn't realize that your walk was so far to the beach. I had pictured that you were right on the water. That's ok though, the walk is probably nice in the warm air. And it seems like a peaceful place to walk. Plus, the chainlink fence keeps the mangrove trees from attacking you while you walk. Sometimes you think it's a tree and then BAM! an Ent attacks you. That's why you should always be a good wizard. I gotta stop making Lord of the Rings references.
Comment 2018-07-20 23:29:48 @willsparks88   Man, I'm sorry to hear that your wife's surgery is going to be more intense than they thought. I hope it goes really well. Keep us posted. Enjoy that weekend. Oh, and your new coin is nice!
Comment 2018-07-20 23:24:18 @stephen-somers   Looks like overall your loans are doing very well. Good for you for helping people get the capital they need to start their small businesses. I hope you get you money back and are able to help more people.
Comment 2018-07-20 22:15:09 @sbsparts   Those are lovely. I just got my first one a few weeks back! They're very nice coins. I was a bit disappointed when I found out they're only 91.67% gold, but what can you do? I still love the design and am glad I added it to the stack.
Comment 2018-07-20 22:13:21 @goldenarms   Dang, that's a lot of food! How do you not go straight into a food coma as soon as you eat one of those? :)
Comment 2018-07-20 22:12:06 @janton   Interesting. I didn't know most of those. For some reason I didn't think that Hollywood would lie to me about that. ;) Baseball? Ha ha. Are you allowed to wear a baseball hat if you don't follow baseball?
Comment 2018-07-20 21:23:06 @darkmrmystic   I'd be in favor of that. In his last post, SSUK talked about adding a Copper level for 500 SP delegation. I thought he said they would be able to add it for next month, so I think it's a discussion they're already having. Thanks for presenting it for official consideration!
Comment 2018-07-20 21:19:48 @mrchef111   So from my experience, it would be difficult to get a plain one. I don't think it would be impossible, but they're just called blanks. I don't know that many people sell them. If you just want to get any one ounce silver bar, head to your local coin shop and look in their bargain bin. Normally they have some coins, rounds (they're shaped liked coins, but are made by private mints, not governments), and bars that they sell for a small premium. This one I got for around $17. Not too bad of a premium! I hear you about needing more cash for getting more silver. This would be a great time with the prices so low.
Comment 2018-07-20 21:16:00 @silveringots   You're welcome! I'm not sure if you use GINAbot to notify you when people mention you, but I've added a link on the bottom of my posts that includes your contest as one of the things I promote. It's just a little blurb, but hopefully it draws more people in.
Comment 2018-07-20 21:14:27 @glenalbrethsen   That's great! Thanks for doing all the research to let me know how I got the token. I didn't realize that it had such a sordid past. At least now I know. I do wish I knew if the woman was caught and convicted. You never know when those types of grudges can pop back up. Some of the old time language was a little difficult for me to sort out as I haven't watched a lot of noir films, but it was a really good story. As she did, a shiny piece of metal clattered on the coffin. "Oh, for the love of..." I liked that part. I could almost hear the indignation and exasperation in his thoughts. Ha ha. Too bad about the plug nickel though. If it has any markings on it, it could be used to track a person down. Maybe there are more installments in this series.
Comment 2018-07-20 20:19:21 @goldkey   That's a nice bunch of coins! And Ray is always coming out with new deals, so it's important to keep our eyes open and our wallets stocked. Congrats. :)
Comment 2018-07-20 19:58:06 @lynncoyle1   Yep, and I know what went into the soil that it's growing in. And I know what got sprayed on it. I normally wash them because of dust and whatever comes down from the stuff that gets sprayed in the sky. But they're delicious!
Comment 2018-07-20 19:56:27 @lynncoyle1   Sounds like you're set! Enjoy. :)
Comment 2018-07-20 19:53:54 @janton    well that was my redneck interpretation Ha ha, you're cracking me up again. That's probably just something they put there so the "Turtle" writing would show up. Who knows? I try not to overthink these things and just enjoy the beauty of it. Once I start using that analytical side of the brain, it loses a lot of its luster. Because then I just think about the chemistry and scientific principles and all that. Sometimes that's fine, but other times I like to just appreciate it because it's pretty. :D
Comment 2018-07-20 19:51:15 @janton   Nothing is wrong with animals. I just might have more latitude for improvisation of there was some variety in the design. Or maybe I just need inspiration to come up with more story ideas.
Comment 2018-07-20 19:49:24 @teutonium   I found another one on ebay for around $25 with shipping. There must be some collectible value to it as the silver content would be worth around $15.55 right now. Not too bad for a gift. Maybe even give a few of them. :)
Comment 2018-07-20 19:47:39 @everydaycoach   Maybe there's just a good restaurant up the way that they really like to visit. Heh That's pretty deep! I guess you can get quite a few ships through there. Looking forward to your pictures of them.
Comment 2018-07-20 19:46:12 @silversaver888   I'm sorry to hear your dad isn't around anymore. Sadly it happens sooner or later to all of us. That doesn't necessarily make it any easier though, so again, I'm sorry. I'll bet he would have loved one of these. I haven't bought silver on ebay at all, so do your own research, but here's one that I found listed there. I just searched google for "father's day 1973 silver owl bar"
Comment 2018-07-20 19:32:48 @jorlauski   I'm glad you had such a positive role model in your life. Yes, there are often people who father us who aren't actually related. Still, they take time, effort, money, energy, etc to help us become capable adults who can make good choices and treat others well. A father doesn't need to be blood related - he just needs to be enough of a man to show love , care, and compassion I think you said it very well! Also, I'm sorry for your loss. It's difficult to lose someone you love, regardless of whether or not they are related to you by blood.
Comment 2018-07-20 19:29:54 @lynncoyle1   You're a good friend. :) Yep, time to head back to the grocery store and get more food. I've already cleaned out most of the ripe stuff in the garden.
Comment 2018-07-20 19:28:45 @lynncoyle1    "Thanks Dad, for helping me with my journey on Steemit :)" I actually have thought quite a bit about it. It's such a unique piece and you would think that it would be one of the later ones to go, so I'm really surprised that it was there. This was one of those pieces that I picked without even thinking about it. I saw it and it was already going to be purchased. I don't know what would cause someone to sell this. I'm a silver enthusiast, so I don't plan on selling it unless it's to upgrade to something else. Or if I end up swapping some for gold. But the average person who might not understand the value of it... they may have just thought that it might be worth something and taken it to the coin shop so they could cash in. That money is probably long gone now. That's one of the reasons I like silver is that it's tangible, and it's easier to hang onto since it's not as liquid as fiat currency. Ha ha, not quite what I had in mind, but you're welcome! I'm glad I've helped. It makes me wonder what our first interactions were. Hmmm.
Comment 2018-07-20 19:15:15 @mrchef111   A lot of people start with coins and rounds (like I did), but eventually they start finding one ounce bars with different patterns like this one, and they get hooked. I'm probably more hooked on finding cool patterns than I am on getting the lowest price for weight of silver. I did pay a bit extra in premiums for these. But they're unique and cool.
Comment 2018-07-20 19:13:24 @fat-elvis   Thanks. That's one of the main reasons I go to the more expensive store: they have a better selection of random bars and rounds. I like to mix things up a bit. Keeps things a little more interesting.
Comment 2018-07-20 19:12:24 @goldenarms   "All my Libertads are from the same year! My life is so hard!" stackerproblems If that's all you have to complain about today, you are doing well, my friend! Ha ha :) Actually, scratch that. Those coins suck. Send them to me for a really good price and then you won't have to be reminded of the trauma. LOL. (Notice I even offered to pay something for them. Classy, right?) ;)
Comment 2018-07-20 19:10:30 @silveringots   He did really well. I thought about playing the round anyways, but I couldn't help myself and I peeked at the answers while I was seeing if there was a spot open. I may have recruited the next winner. We'll see!
Comment 2018-07-20 19:09:30 @lynncoyle1   I wouldn't mind getting to relax in a hammock by the ocean. That sounds lovely. Of course I would want to be in the shade and have a sweet drink in my hand.... maybe a Kombucha. Ahhh, I'm relaxing already.
Comment 2018-07-20 19:07:30 @ozhiya   Yep, I thought you had switched to using a stock photo for some other kind of post. Then I realized that it was your picture. Nicely done.
Comment 2018-07-20 19:06:09 @upvoteshares   I'll keep my eyes peeled. Just tell me when it's ready and hopefully I'll have Steem at that time. :)
Comment 2018-07-20 19:05:15 @jorlauski   That would be terrible to put an offer on a house, and then find out there's a ton of work that needs to be done. I had a friend who bought a house and the inspection company didn't check something, but signed off on it. There were issues later and somehow the inspection company left them out to dry. It was very unfortunate for them. You have to be careful, but even then sometimes it doesn't work out the way you want.
Comment 2018-07-20 19:02:45 @britcoin   Wow, I think that's the biggest collection I've seen showcased on here. And it's only part of your collection! That's really impressive.
Comment 2018-07-20 18:22:18 @janton   I have to have the inspiration for it. And I don't want the stories to get old, so I need to get ones other than animals. :)
Comment 2018-07-20 18:21:21 @janton   It's from Fiji. Outer space? It's bubbles, man! I think the sun is getting to you. Ha ha. I really like the design as well. I'm hoping to be able to get more of these.
Comment 2018-07-20 16:32:36 @getonthetrain   Heh, that was funny. Hey, at least you got $100 value for the next cruise. Too bad about your wife though. :( Was this for @comedyopenmic?
Comment 2018-07-20 16:27:24 @everydaycoach   That ship looks very out of place there. It's huge compared to everything else. Hopefully they made sure the channel is deep enough before heading in there. Ha ha.
Comment 2018-07-20 16:19:15 @papa-pepper    we found out that it takes about one catfish, two snakes, a turtle to replace a broken truck window. Ha ha, I didn't know that, but now I do! I'm going to have to start measuring time using that method. "How long does it take to run a mile?" "Well, approximately two turtles, one smallmouth bass, and 14 popsicle sticks from a picnic yesterday."
Comment 2018-07-20 16:14:06 @humanearl   It's rough when one of your favorite players gets traded, but unfortunately that's the game... or at least part of it. I don't really follow basketball, but I hope for your sake that the Spurs can still put up good numbers and be contenders this coming season.
Comment 2018-07-20 15:21:21 @goldenarms   They're one of my favorite coins as well. Nice adds. Too bad they weren't a bunch of different years, but that's alright... they're still Libertads.
Comment 2018-07-20 14:52:00 @silveringots   That was a good one! Congrats, @teutonium! :)
Comment 2018-07-20 04:43:57 @janton   Roger that. ... and after that, I'm going to buy the bank. I'll run for sheriff. Then I'll buy the train station too. I think I'm well on my way to becoming a supervillain in a Western movie. Crap. That means that I'll have to fight me... and possibly kill me. Because I don't like villains. Hmmm.
Comment 2018-07-20 04:40:45 @janton   Sure, that sounds like a good plan. It won't be me though. Oh, I never joke about Enya. Although I'd probably choose something more upbeat for a fight song. As it is, I don't fight, so I don't need a song for it. Heh.
Comment 2018-07-20 04:39:27 @gdwcoins   I can't enter our raffle, but I did give you an upvote to help out. Also, if you haven't joined MSP-PAL network, go here to join their server. Once you get registered and everything, you'll be able to use their upvote function once every 36 hours or so. It's not a huge vote, only $0.10 or so, but it's something. Hopefully that helps!
Comment 2018-07-20 04:00:18 @brian.rrr   Man, you got a lot of cool new coins! I'm glad to see that you've been posting more on precious metals. Keep that up and you shouldn't have a problem getting into steemsilvergold. I really like that privateer round. It has such a cool design, and the fact that it's 2 ounces just makes it all the better. Nice haul! Congrats.
Comment 2018-07-20 03:55:15 @glenalbrethsen   I enjoy your writing and I'm sorry that it didn't work out this time. Maybe next time you can make a quick post that just rolls off the brain. Then maybe you'll win and you'll be hooked on writing funny short stories!
Comment 2018-07-20 03:49:45 @papa-pepper   It's not a bad thing to show appreciation or to spread some kindness to people. Who knows what they're going through? You might just make their day, or even restore their faith in humanity or even God. Sometimes people just need even the smallest sign that someone cares. Ha ha, "they're not going to siphon out the gas and give it back." So true. I think you said it's a diesel truck, so hopefully you didn't put gas in it. :P
Comment 2018-07-20 03:47:24 @glenalbrethsen   Ohhh, I'm sorry, man. That sucks. You did such a good job on creating the backstory and everything for it. I'm sorry it didn't count. That just means your next one is going to be even better!
Comment 2018-07-20 03:45:57 @fat-elvis   Right on! I've heard of people doing their pours and they keep losing silver each try, so that's cool you were able to make it out clean.
Comment 2018-07-20 03:45:03 @lynncoyle1   Thanks for talking her down. We're just friends though. I would stop talking with GINA in a heartbeat if I thought it would hurt my wife in any way. I'm super protect of my wife... which is why it's not good to play board games with her and other people, because I don't like her getting attacked, even in games. I must have been hungry tonight because not only did I have dinner, I had cheese and crackers, and cereal, and yogurt with strawberries. I don't know what it was, but I was super hungry. At least I'm full now! Thanks, God for food! Ha ha
Comment 2018-07-20 03:41:18 @lynncoyle1   I really do enjoy collecting it. The fact that it's holding value and helping me protect my family's future is cool too. Thanks for saying hi!
Comment 2018-07-20 03:33:30 @jorlauski   Good to know. I've heard of cases where the seller did it, and others where the buyer did it, but it makes sense that if they buyer is doing it that the sale would be contingent on the house passing. Then they can back out if things are not in shape. They may not even have to pay for the inspection if the damage is bad. No need for a certification if the damage is clear.
Comment 2018-07-20 03:29:15 @silveringots   That would be great! I want to keep collecting, but I'm starting to get worried as I collect more and more coins that the odds of getting fakes and wasting my heard-earned money is increasing. I try to only buy from reputable dealers, but maybe they're missing things too. I'm not going to stop buying, but I'd like to know a bit more of what I'm up against. And probably not going to jump on any ebay sales anytime soon.
Comment 2018-07-20 03:27:36 @vgholdingsllc   Go big or go home, right? I'm already home, so I only had one option! I knew I should have gone to the library instead on coming home. :P
Comment 2018-07-20 03:26:48 @janton   I can imagine there's big business in fixing foundations if everyone built their houses on shifting sands. I like my houses to be built on solid ground, thank you very much. Keep your sands of time and shiftings, and I'll live on the rock. Or maybe a mountain top!
Comment 2018-07-20 03:25:06 @glenalbrethsen   I don't understand any of the situation. I try not to be too critical of it because there are a lot of people outside the USA who feel it's their right to bash the system here. They feel justified in voicing their own uninformed opinions about a system and group of people they know next-to-nothing about. And I don't really look up to them for that. So I try to afford them the same courtesy that I would expect of others, and I don't say much about it. That being said, I don't understand their role or function either, other than I think they are supposed to be the figureheads. Which makes sense, because The Queen is on approximately half the coins in the world. Can't get more figurehead than that!
Comment 2018-07-20 03:21:39 @janton   I just bought a Volvo truck as my commuter car. I'm going to use it to telecommute. :P
Comment 2018-07-20 03:21:03 @janton   You know it, boss! And I'm going to buy the silver shop too, so I get a markup there as well. ;)
Comment 2018-07-20 03:20:30 @janton   Ha ha, you got side tracked by the lack of side tracks! That's hilarious! :D
Comment 2018-07-20 03:19:21 @fat-elvis   Hey, that's pretty good! Well done. Did it end up still being 2 ounces, or did you lose some in the process?
Comment 2018-07-20 03:16:09 @mahdiyari   Quick question on SteemAuto for you: Is there a way to block SteemAuto from voting on an author's own post? I don't want to be self-voting, but I would like to follow a trail that potentially will vote for me.
Comment 2018-07-20 03:12:48 @goldenarms   Those are sweet! I've seen the design before, but I didn't realize there was a 1/10th ounce version. They all look cool together. Glad you're keeping the family together.
Comment 2018-07-20 03:03:21 @lynncoyle1   Aww, your plants are doing so well! Good call on switching to green ones that really like the sun. The hammock looks very welcoming. I really like lilies when I can get them. The smell reminds me of something, but I'm not sure what. Maybe I was an Elf king or something and had lilies all the time, but then I was cursed and became human, thus losing my place as king. Now I wander the Earth as a human, but my mind still remembers the sweet smell of my kingdom. One day, one day, maybe I'll return. 0.0
Comment 2018-07-20 02:58:33 @upvoteshares   Does a person need to be invited to join? Or can they just start sending Steem and the shares are assigned? The article says only quality Steemians, so I'm assuming there's a vetting process, but I wanted to check. I'm interested in joining, so if there's approval needed, I would like to get on the list. Thanks!
Comment 2018-07-20 02:48:00 @vgholdingsllc   Great idea! And very generous of you to be offering so many free entries. I joined Ray's trail, the myprecious trail, and I just delegated 250SP to ssg-community.
Comment 2018-07-20 02:09:15 @silver-hammer   Those markets are looking juicy!!!
Comment 2018-07-20 02:05:24 @pocketechange   Wouldn't mind more bang, but I'm fresh out of buccaneers. Ha ha.
Comment 2018-07-20 01:58:27 @lynncoyle1   Aww, thanks for mentioning my movies. I appreciate it when my fans remember the movies I was in. ;) My offer still stands. Just let me know.
Comment 2018-07-20 01:57:12 @glenalbrethsen   "Magically gifted"? Ha ha. Since I knew I would be writing about her, I didn't want to write too many specifics about her as a character. It's difficult when it's a real person that you're writing about.
Comment 2018-07-20 01:08:18 @glenalbrethsen   I can't blame you for not wanting to be a huge star. I would rather not have a bunch of people know my face and name. It's easier to just go about my business if people don't know me. I'd like for you to figure out the marketing game so you can tour and sign autographs. Then you can enjoy your drinks and your blessings.
Comment 2018-07-20 01:04:51 @glenalbrethsen   I never said that she was a witch. I just said it was a woman. I'm glad you enjoyed the backstory. I have been enjoying making them up.
Comment 2018-07-20 00:58:33 @janton    I'm laughing but I don't get it. That's funny! You haven't heard of getting sidetracked? It's getting off the path you were supposed to be on. What you do with that time is undetermined. Sometimes the adventures are fun though!
Comment 2018-07-20 00:54:15 @janton   I'm with you there on the tea. I really enjoy a nice cup of tea. I wouldn't want to waste all my money though. I like saving. Maybe I would buy the tavern and sell the whiskey.
Comment 2018-07-20 00:52:15 @janton   Aww, thanks. :)
Comment 2018-07-20 00:50:42 @janton   He's quite the athlete. And you're right, the truck drivers were equally amazing in their skill.
Comment 2018-07-20 00:36:18 @mattclarke   That's true. It's rather expensive to ship stuff across the world. Probably wouldn't be worth it as much to ship copper as it would be to ship gold.
Comment 2018-07-20 00:35:24 @hananali   I like turtles. And I like silver. I saw a silver turtle, so I bought it and added it to my collection. :)
Comment 2018-07-20 00:34:09 @teutonium   Man, I'm really sorry to hear that. It's a tough thing to have happen. Sometimes it's amazing to me that so many youth actually survive to adulthood. Hopefully your friend improves quickly.
Comment 2018-07-20 00:28:06 @janton   I'mg lad that your house is safe. I can imagine it would be unsettling (pun intended) if your house was in danger of collapsing. Keep a weather eye open for those faults appearing.
Comment 2018-07-19 23:30:03 @mattclarke   I don't know if I could swing $20 as a recruitment tool, even if the people were friends. What about doing copper rounds as recruitment tools? We'd have to get the die made with the QR code or whatever on the back that directs them to SSG, but we already have the other side ready, and could hopefully get them made for less than a few dollars each. Thoughts?
Comment 2018-07-19 23:00:54 @infidel1258   All the more reason to stack silver. It should go way up during a recession.
Comment 2018-07-19 22:59:12 @gdwcoins   That's cool that you took SSUK's saying and made it into a bar. You're getting some good pour experience. It looks good, man!
Comment 2018-07-19 22:56:18 @ssg-community   Thanks for the update and for all the good work you guys do to keep things going!
Comment 2018-07-19 22:52:24 @janton   Time to get out the sandbags. Sorry you're having to deal with that, man. It's a bummer. Hopefully you caught it quickly enough that it won't do much damage to the house. Not a redneck. I haven't hauled a refrigerator in quite some time either. It's nice to have a place that came with one.
Comment 2018-07-19 22:48:42 @tarazkp   I have had a few conversations already today, both on Steemit and in real life about the importance of improving. I think it's more important to be improving than to have arrived. If you're "fit" but not doing anything about it, then you're going to deteriorate. If you're the smartest in your group, but you stop learning and studying, then you'll be passed up before you know it. So if you're in a position where you see room for improvement, then as soon as you do something about it, then you're on a much better path than most people. Like you said, each of us has to make the decision for ourselves that we want to change, and then we have to do the actions to make the changes. "Good discipline" on your fitness journey. (Like good luck, but less hope and more responsibility). I hope it helps and that you're both around to enjoy your daughter growing up for many, many years to come. :)
Comment 2018-07-19 22:41:33 @hananali   Thanks, I collect coins.
Comment 2018-07-19 22:40:30 @lynncoyle1   Thanks for sticking up for me. You're a good friend. GINA can get a bit excitable at times, so thanks for calming her down. I'm sure you got lots of notifications about it. Oooh, pudding! I want some now. Hmmm, maybe Greek yogurt instead. I can add honey and/or strawberries.
Comment 2018-07-19 22:38:15 @simplymike   Ha ha, I think that's the case. I'd love for it to be so. Hopefully I still have a lot of life to live. I don't know what will happen with the turtle. I'm already thinking of a sequel.
Comment 2018-07-19 22:36:45 @janton   I remember that ad. That was pretty amazing, bot that he can do the splits, and that the trucks are so precise that he was able to do it. Good thing he didn't fall!
Comment 2018-07-19 22:34:12 @silveringots   Are they fake in terms of being made of something other than silver, or fake in terms of being made after the year stamped on the coin? Are they fakes like the Engelhard bars that are actually silver, but aren't Engelhard? Or are they just not silver? And they still get past the detectors? Wow
Comment 2018-07-19 22:32:09 @lynncoyle1   Thanks, it's gorgeous. I do like the lower prices. With the quantities that I'm buying, I don't end up saving too much money, but it's the principle of the matter. I like getting a good deal, and I think it will hold it's value later, so I'm happy to stock up when it's on sale.
Comment 2018-07-19 22:30:54 @ronaldoavelino   Thanks, I figured I'd have a bit of fun with it. I'm glad you enjoyed both the story and the coin.
Comment 2018-07-19 22:30:15 @beeyou   I didn't even know about using the posting key and not the master key until I had been here over a month. It's easy to get lost in the shuffle. That's why it's so important to connect with good people who will get you get going.... and then stay on track. :D
Comment 2018-07-19 22:29:03 @glenalbrethsen   At least you know what you need to do. People love giveaways. Most creators probably do giveaways and such on Facebook and have them head to the Patreon account to get the info for the prize or something. A lot of Youtubers like to get subscribers. Maybe they also advertise a Patreon account. I don't know. I was never good at all that stuff. Maybe you can figure it out and become a huge star!
Comment 2018-07-19 22:26:54 @janton   I try to be. :D
Comment 2018-07-19 22:26:30 @teutonium   That sucks people drive drunk there. It's super dangerous. Good for you for being responsible. You could have saved someone's life that night, maybe your own. It's better to take a cab or to walk. Although don't walk in the road. ;)
Comment 2018-07-19 22:25:09 @janton   I think there are a lot of people in this world who could do with a lot more self-control. Cutting out some alcohol would be a good start for them.
Comment 2018-07-19 22:24:27 @janton   I was just talking to someone earlier today about how it's important to keep learning. Probably more important than actually having arrived at whatever your destination is. Learning keeps you moving forward.
Comment 2018-07-19 22:23:24 @janton   Right?! Ha ha
Comment 2018-07-19 16:41:39 @janton   She's not quite at the same level as my wife, but she's pretty good. :)
Comment 2018-07-19 16:35:45 @janton   Almost correct. This is my actual pump-up jam!!!
Comment 2018-07-19 16:23:27 @glenalbrethsen   Yep, it's a hobby. And I haven't made a dime off it. Actually, I did get that one free dime. But other than that, it's just money that I'm spending. I've kind of been considering cutting back on my spending as we have other ways we could use the money. Hmmm. When you're dependent on your brain and it's not cooperating, that's a tough spot to be in. And if you don't drink coffee, you in another tough spot. I don't know there's money in reviewing comic books here, but I do know there's money in reviewing anime on Patreon. I heard of a guy making over $60,000 per year just by watching episodes of something and commenting as he watched. Maybe you could do something like that with comics if you set up a Patreon account.
Comment 2018-07-19 16:19:36 @teutonium    I didn't want the poor guy to lose his gf and his job in the same exact week Yeah, that would have sucked. I would actually be more worried about the people around the drunk gym member. If someone is driving drunk, that's their choice. I hope they don't get hurt, but if they do, that's the consequences of their actions. It's the other people that I worry about. They're just going about their day and can get hurt because someone else is being selfish and stupid by doing dangerous activities while inebriated. Just a week ago there was someone killed on the freeway sort of close to me. It was because a drunk person drove the wrong way and hit them head on. The drunk person was fine, but they killed someone in the other car. It's terrible.
Comment 2018-07-19 16:11:48 @djohan   That looks delicious! I would probably want to eat about fifty of those. Ha ha. :)
Comment 2018-07-19 16:10:09 @papa-pepper   I like your focus on making the most of your time. Taking something with each trip (with the trailer), preparing and freezing 14 meals at one time, and growing enough one year so you don't have to grow it the next. You are making good use of your time, so you have more time to do other things. And you spend that time with your family, which I highly admire. :)
Comment 2018-07-19 16:07:27 @glenalbrethsen   Sounds like you're doing well overall. I wouldn't recommend giving up food entirely and only working out. I'm not a fitness expert though, so don't take that as professional advice. Heh.
Comment 2018-07-19 16:00:15 @teutonium   I can't say that I've ever seen someone working out while drunk. It seems like there's something going on there if you're seeing a lot of people working out while drunk, and if the receptionist is drunk. Maybe they should start an alcoholics anonymous there. Or at least make you take a breathalyzer before you operate the heavy machinery. Someone could get seriously hurt. Maybe not the drunk person either. It could be a bystander. What a crazy world!
Comment 2018-07-19 15:15:36 @getonthetrain   Yes! I did that too. We saved all the monies. I'm super proud of you!
Comment 2018-07-19 15:12:21 @welshstacker   Thanks for the update! Good stuff.
Comment 2018-07-19 14:54:03 @silveringots   That sucks people do that. I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it, but when I do, it makes me mad. I wonder what percentage of global supply is counterfeit. What are the odds that a coin/bar/round that you buy from the coin store is fake?
Comment 2018-07-19 14:47:12 @bigram13   There are a lot of cryptos that are nothing more than a concept. I think it's important to do your due diligence before buying. It still boggles my mind that Dogecoin has a market cap of $435 million! It's nothing! Oh, well. People buy all kinds of crazy things. Might as well buy crazy cryptos too. Not investment advice. Do your own research.
Comment 2018-07-19 14:29:12 @glenalbrethsen   Having a backlog of things to write can be a good thing. It means you won't run out of material. One of the main downsides for me with my normal topics is that I like to write about coins I have. That means I have to buy the coins. That means I have to figure out how to get money for said coins. It's only so long until my wife discovers that her show boxes aren't filled with shoes. ;)
Comment 2018-07-19 14:26:30 @glenalbrethsen    If I thought it would improve the taste and actually be compatible with oatmeal, I'd toss in chunks of steak or potato chips. Ha ha ha, that's funny! Have you tried it yet? There's really no way to know until you do. I'm expecting your "Grandpa Cooks" post to be about Steak Oatmeal. :D Once you stop eating as much sugar, and even just in specific dishes, your brain gets used to it. When it no longer expects a sugar rush, the taste improves because it's still getting what it expects. Although fruit and such do help a lot. You don't have to eat it without the sugar, I'm just trying to let you know there's hope to do so if you so desire.
Comment 2018-07-19 14:23:51 @goldenarms   That's less than I was thinking it would be. Sounds like you got a deal. Local spots with deals are the best. You can see it, feel it, and then take it home the same day. Only downside is you have to drive there, but if it's close, then you're in danger of spending all your money there. ;)
Comment 2018-07-19 14:22:06 @ronaldoavelino   Hey, right on! That will open up a whole new world of coins for you to buy from.
Comment 2018-07-19 14:21:15 @janton   They call me. I can't just leave them there. It's too painful. :)
Comment 2018-07-19 14:20:09 @gdwcoins   I was thinking about getting one of the red books for american coins, but hadn't heard of the blue book. I'll take a look. Thanks!
Comment 2018-07-19 14:18:12 @vgholdingsllc   Sounds like a fun raffle! People love it when there are bonus prizes. I am going to start looking for more copper rounds when I'm making my rounds at the coin store. See what I did there? Ha ha. I'm easily amused. I hope you're able to get a new case for it. Seems like they should make them stronger. The whole point is they're supposed to protect the coin. Doesn't help if they break with one drop.
Comment 2018-07-19 14:16:00 @janton   The more whiskey I'd buy, the less money I'd have... and the more other poor decisions I would make. I like my control, thank you very much! :P
Comment 2018-07-19 14:14:54 @janton   You have an inquisitive spirit. That's good! It will keep you learning and growing. Lots of people (myself included) tend to give a lot of opinions, but we can learn something if we stop and listen... even more if we ask questions. Took me a minute, but found it! Right on, man! Good for you. :)
Comment 2018-07-19 14:11:54 @galenkp   Ha ha, I thought you might appreciate that. Hey, as I always say, "I like having birthdays. It beats the alternative." Fortunately, I believe that the movies actually got it correct this time and that the One Ring actually was destroyed and Sauron's spirit was obliterated. That's great that it has been such a good trip. Photo books are a great way of remembering trips. I have not gotten many of them made. One of the things that always bothered me about most of the sites was that when you use them, you grant them an irrevocable license to use your photos for whatever they want for as long as they want, and you're not entitled to any compensation whatsoever. That doesn't sit quite right with me. I ended up using Costco because I figured they have enough photos they can use for marketing that they probably don't need to use mine.
Comment 2018-07-19 14:04:06 @janton   No worries, man. Recharge that voting power. And enjoy the side tracks if you can. There are some fun things that can happen there. :)
Comment 2018-07-19 14:03:06 @glenalbrethsen   Five cheeseburgers for $1.45 sounds good. Your weight loss technique does not. It's not fun when there's something wrong and the doctors can't find out what it is. And then if you're having to go through a bunch of invasive tests and having to drink gunky junk for nothing, that's just the garbage icing on top of a terrible cake. I'm glad you're better. Maybe eating fewer of those aforementioned cheeseburgers helps with that. As Tim McGraw said, "eat a few more salads and not stay up so late."
Comment 2018-07-19 13:59:06 @penderis    I want Gina to be my friend then when my girlfriend asks what I am doing I just I am reading messages from my friend Gina then giggle my ass off. Ha ha ha, that's a great way to get in the doghouse! Still, it would be really funny. :D
Comment 2018-07-19 13:57:54 @janton   It's happy, but it's not an ending. This is just the beginning. Now she's back to giving me notifications when you nice people comment on my stuff.
Comment 2018-07-19 13:57:06 @janton   Crazy Frog - it's better than coffee at "waking you up!"
Comment 2018-07-19 13:56:18 @glenalbrethsen   Ha ha! I don't remember that one. Sorry I did something that got that stuck in your head though. I could see how that would be annoying. And yes, thank you so much! ;)
Comment 2018-07-19 04:49:42 @goldenarms   Wow, those are trippy. How much more than the normal coins are they?
Comment 2018-07-19 04:42:54 @raybrockman   I could see maybe using a calculator for doing calculus or something, but basic mathematical equations like adding, subtracting, and simple multiplying/dividing should be doable for anyone who has graduated from high school. I'm fairly good at math, so I do it in my head easier than others, but how can people be graduating high school and not know math? Let's hope the battery on the phone doesn't die from playing Candy Crush too much.
Comment 2018-07-19 04:38:30 @djohan   I have not tried any of those. I would eat the chicken satay. I would probably try the ox tail soup. I don't know that I would eat either of the tofu dishes. I don't tend to like the taste or texture of it.
Comment 2018-07-19 04:34:42 @ozhiya   Wow, that's a really stunning photo. At first I thought it was a stock photo until I realized it was one that you took for the contest. Great work taking the shot and editing it!
Comment 2018-07-19 04:30:18 @vgholdingsllc   Wow, those are unique! I like them a lot. Wouldn't mind getting some as talking pieces. The shape is so cool. I'm glad it was just the case that broke. I read it wrong and I was trying to figure out how you broke a coin. I was super worried. heh. Hopefully you're able to get another case from them.
Comment 2018-07-19 04:27:42 @beeyou   Thanks for posting another version as a reminder. We appreciate you helping to keep us safe!
Comment 2018-07-19 04:26:27 @willsparks88   That's about right!
Comment 2018-07-19 04:25:15 @papa-pepper   Man, that warms my heart to see. I love saving money on food, especially because it can get so expensive. That's a great way to preserve it. I liked that you mixed up the contents of the bags, so they have different tastes which gives you some variety. You even varied the way you chopped the snake gourds. So cool! I didn't know that technique, so next time I'm shopping carrots or something like that, I'm going to try it.
Comment 2018-07-19 04:17:12 @janton   Yeah, I wouldn't follow the whole code. I like saving money too much to spend that much on shots of whiskey. I'd rather have coins of silver. ;)
Comment 2018-07-19 04:16:24 @glenalbrethsen   LOL. That's great! You should write a whole short story on that. It sounds amazing! I'd read it. Thanks for playing along. That was fun.
Comment 2018-07-19 04:15:09 @janton   Hey, no problem. I like explaining coin stuff to people. Although don't feel like you have to give me prompts just so I have something to answer. :D "What are the silver coins made out of?" Maybe that's a question for your redneck series. "You might be a redneck if you don't know what material silver coins are made out of." Ha ha!
Comment 2018-07-19 04:13:21 @janton   Maybe it's just that all the old folks flock together. You could be right about that. It wouldn't surprise me if there were a lot of 20-somethings on here though. Techie generation!
Comment 2018-07-19 04:12:09 @glenalbrethsen   I do the healthy dose of brown sugar too! None. Ha ha! I'm trying to cut down on my sugar intake, so no sugar in the oatmeal. The raisins have enough on their own. I do like blueberries in oatmeal though. Not with the raisins. Crystallized ginger has sugar on it, so you might like that. The chia seeds add a little crunchy to it, and they have a lot of fiber so there's another plus! Heh. All chia? ..... Nah.
Comment 2018-07-19 04:08:30 @janton   I thought I responded to that one. Hmmm. Nope, I have the same-sized tires all around. Standard issue from the tire store.
Comment 2018-07-19 04:06:36 @sevinwilson   I'm definitely in support of the idea. Glad we had our little chat. I read through the comments and it seems like there's a lot of support for various ideas. I would say that there are tons of cool things we can do. We can find new and exciting ways of making even more rounds throughout the year. My initial thinking was that we would make something that uses the beautiful design we have on the back, but doesn't have to have a new die created, or doesn't infringe on the Steem Silver Round, especially since it just came out. My thinking was that we would do the reverse design on both sides of the coin, and have it minted American-style so when you flip it, it looks the same. They already have the die and it would be a cool, little thing to tide us over until we start working on the design for the 2019 Steem Silver Round. Unless we decide that we want to do a 2nd Steem Silver Round for the year, I think we should stay away from creating a new design/getting new dies made. If we do want to do another round, then I wouldn't want to wing it. Let's get a design team going to make something awesome! Just a few thoughts. I'm glad to hear everyone's ideas. I think having a gold version would be sweet! It's probably out of my price range right now, it I'll bet it would look amazing. :)
Comment 2018-07-19 03:59:09 @glenalbrethsen   I liked what you did with it. It was enjoyable to read about how they got to that place in life. I think you did a good job. Yeah, exposure is good. maybe they'll check out your blog again later. I'm considering dropping another entry next week. We'll see if I come up with something funny to say.
Comment 2018-07-19 03:57:36 @glenalbrethsen   Lots of companies like younger people because they can pay them less money. They also tend to have lower health care costs, so the company doesn't have to pay as much to get insurance for everyone. The older folks normally know a few tricks though and could save the company money. But a lot of companies like predictability of outcome more than potential for savings. $4.99 is considerably more than the $1.50 for the hot dog, but the costs to make it are higher, and there's more that goes into it. It's really not a bad price considering the size of the burger. If you go to Red Robin or something, it would be $10+
Comment 2018-07-19 03:51:24 @vgholdingsllc   Good for KS! I had forgotten about that. Yeah, I'm hooked. I probably do need to seek therapy or a support group for it at this point. Ha ha. Hopefully we get a bunch of different winners and we can form our own support group.
Comment 2018-07-19 03:16:54 @mrchef111   NO! You should buy them! If you buy them and take pictures, it temporarily lessens my symptoms. Then it makes them worse. Stakitus, the disease that afflicts us, is basically a pyramid scheme. We constantly have to get new members so we can get temporary relief from Stakitus. But then it makes it worse, so we need even more members to help make those symptoms better. Make sense? ;) Ha ha.
Comment 2018-07-19 03:11:45 @vgholdingsllc   I asked silveringots, because I don't remember: who won the first round? Since it was going to be the last game if I got a point, I figured that I could put up with it for a bit. Vacationing is awesome! Although winning, or attempting to win can be addictive. I was thinking of taking this round off completely to give others a chance, but once I saw the post, I couldn't stop myself. My bad. :P
Comment 2018-07-19 03:07:39 @silveringots   Yeah, not the sort of thing I want to get involved in. If they were stocks, I'm fairly certain that you can get in big trouble with the law for doing that sort of thing. Besides, it's just not right... in my opinion. I feel like that's just purposely deceiving people for your own profit and that's not something I would be comfortable with.
Comment 2018-07-19 03:03:03 @glenalbrethsen   Thanks for the help. I'll be bogged down with replies, but I'll be adding some comments and CL to my score, so it's all good. ding You should probably also "suppress "everyone" and "here" in your discord groups. That's probably what's going off. On some of the random groups that I'm in, I did that. That will help with it. You won't get those notifications though so if there's an important announcement, you might miss it. ding ding ding ding
Comment 2018-07-19 02:56:00 @britcoin   You're a wizard. With the amount of coins you buy, especially the PF 70s, you must be really good at finding those deals. And yes, invest it right back into more silver!
Comment 2018-07-19 02:54:42 @silveringots    @themanwithnoname is a man on a mission with no name. I like that! :) Who won the first round? I came in at the end of it and I can't remember.
Comment 2018-07-19 02:54:03 @vgholdingsllc   Ha ha, sorry about that, VG. I'll dial it back. No sitting and pressing refresh for two hours like I did in the final of last round. :P
Comment 2018-07-19 02:51:48 @glenalbrethsen   I told it to wear sunscreen, but it didn't listen to me. Show this picture to your grandkids and tell them that if they don't wear their sunscreen that they'll turn into a bronzed coin like this person. ;) I probably should take responsibility for making sure all the silver is going to a safe home. That won't make the shop owners mad at all. Or the people. I'm sure most people want a strange man digging through their bags to see what they bought and make sure it's a "good fit" for their house. Heh.
Comment 2018-07-19 02:49:30 @glenalbrethsen   I don't know what I'll do with it. I'm actually a rather private person, so who knows? No visits with ____. I already know my wife, so I'm content with her. Horse got a new saddle for his birthday. I have never even secretly wanted to get fuzzy dice for anything. I don't know that I want another 15 minutes of fame. I eat oatmeal! It's delicious. I like to eat mine with raisins, chia seeds, and dried ginger pieces. Oooh, and sometimes chopped pecans.
Comment 2018-07-19 02:46:24 @glenalbrethsen   I was rooting for them even though I figured they were doomed. I thought that someone was certain to mess up. I think you did very well on this challenge. Sorry that it took so long, broke your rule, and put you behind so much. Hopefully you get a bunch of votes on it that make it worth it. :D
Comment 2018-07-19 02:44:18 @glenalbrethsen    Okay, Herr No Name. :) Ha ha, that's a good one! Especially if you've worked for yourself for a lot of years, it can be tough to reintegrate into a system and culture that doesn't necessarily see you as an enlightened, capable person. Most companies just want drones to do the work and if you speak up or think outside the box, you can be crushed down. I'm glad you're going to be ok about the Polish dog. I hear that Costco is coming out with a double patty hamburger. It's supposed to be delicious! They are also doing kiosks where you order and pay, then you just go to the window for pickup.
Comment 2018-07-19 02:40:45 @jjuuaanchoo   Absolutely. I just went and got a little more the other day. I don't have an overabundance to spend on it, but I buy what I can. I try to add a little at a time. How are you doing?
Comment 2018-07-19 02:39:33 @mrchef111   There's actually a bonus bear on there, so even though it's only one coin, it's like you get a bear free. Or you pay for a one ounce bear and a 0.5 ounce bear and they mashed them into a supercoin. I like the silver bars. I got my first ones a little while ago, and they're addictive.
Comment 2018-07-19 02:02:15 @ronaldoavelino   Thanks, man. I appreciate that. In the future I'll try to zoom in a bit more.
Comment 2018-07-19 02:00:54 @ronaldoavelino   I didn't know you had another daughter in Spain. You must get some cool coins over there too!
Comment 2018-07-18 23:56:18 @silveringots   I just happened to check your profile and you had just posted. I think it's in the box at the bottom.
Comment 2018-07-18 23:46:51 @silverstackeruk   Ha ha ha, that was awesome! I love your use of the footer. That was great. :)
Comment 2018-07-18 23:41:42 @sokoloffa    Why do you people who do not know me decide for me how to live? You have your own life. I have my own. I'm happy. Comparison only brings discontentment. That's what most of tv and magazines are designed to do is make you dissatisfied so you buy their stuff. I'm glad that you're happy with who you are. It's not an easy place to get to because most things tell us that we're not good enough. We can easily start to believe that. You are good enough though, so good for you for knowing who you are and being happy with that. :)
Comment 2018-07-18 23:38:39 @sbsparts   Woah! That anthill is amazing! I wasn't sure what you meant, then when I realized he had poured it down the anthill, I was really impressed. Question though, is it really .9999 silver, or are there ants in there? ;)
Comment 2018-07-18 23:33:33 @gdwcoins   How do you determine an appropriate price for something like the second coin? It's probably fairly rare, so it should have some numismatic value, even if it's not in the best condition.
Comment 2018-07-18 23:31:33 @glenalbrethsen   I like it! You did a great job of setting up the punchline. I liked how you talked about how the youngest brother was a little slower, so I was sort of expecting him to be the weak link. I also liked how you used the repetition of bringing "why not?" back into the story the 2nd time. I guess the moral we learn here is that you should have a moderate amount of vices. It was the first two's overindulgence that got them in trouble, but like you said, the younger brother should have had something. ;)
Comment 2018-07-18 22:25:48 @janton   That's cool they were able to rebuilt it based on the photos they had. It's just a way of preserving a bit of history. Still not a redneck. ;)
Comment 2018-07-18 22:21:00 @galenkp   Man, I really appreciate that clarification at the start. When you said it was the end, I thought it was the end of all things. I just rewatched Lord of the Rings, so I thought maybe they got it wrong and the Ring of Power had fallen into the hands of the dark lord and we were all doomed. Now that I know we're safe, I can take a breath and stop for a minute. It sounds like the trip has been exactly what you hoped it would be, specifically the time with your family. I'm so glad that your niece has taken a liking to you as sometimes kids can be persnickety. That will be fun to go back! Speaking from experience, you have to build on the momentum, so if you want to go back, plan it now. Don't wait and think about it or you might not make it back any time soon. You don't look like you're almost 50, but that's just my opinion. And I say that as a man who is happily married to a beautiful woman. Ha ha! :) Enjoy the rest of your time there!
Comment 2018-07-18 19:11:24 @kerrislravenhill   Thanks for including me in the story. I like how you weave many of the people on here into your story. :)
Comment 2018-07-18 19:05:00 @everydaycoach   Ha ha, that's funny! And at the same time it's annoying because it messes up your view a little. It does make a good talking point though, so maybe it balances out.
Comment 2018-07-18 19:03:18 @curatorcat   That makes me think of Gilligan's Island. Ha ha.
Comment 2018-07-18 18:59:30 @ronaldoavelino   Sorry about that, @ronaldoavelino! I have tried taking closer pictures with my camera, but the quality isn't as good there. I normally use to view posts and such, so there is the ability to zoom in. I'll see what I can do about getting bigger pictures though. I want you to be able to enjoy them. Thanks for letting me know!
Comment 2018-07-18 18:58:00 @ronaldoavelino   That makes sense. I was going to say that it would be rather strange to find a Canadian coin like that in Brazil. I couldn't remember if you had talked about living in Brazil and didn't want to disclose your location without your consent.
Comment 2018-07-18 18:12:36 @vgholdingsllc   That is a great price! I guess Facebook can pay you to post on it. :)
Comment 2018-07-18 17:57:42 @ronaldoavelino   I'm not normally one for colorized coins, but that really pops off the screen. Did you get it in Canada while visiting, or did you find it at home?
Comment 2018-07-18 17:55:39 @streetstyle   That sounds incredibly annoying. I'm sorry you've been going through that. It seems like people would have better things to do than make crank phone calls. It also makes more sense why I got a call from a woman the other day saying she was calling me back. She had gotten a call from my number, but I hadn't called anyone during that period of time, so I didn't know what she was talking about. Now it makes more sense. Hopefully no one was using my phone number for nefarious purposes. Thanks for filling in that missing piece of information.
Comment 2018-07-18 17:49:48 @silveringots   Oh, man! It's about to get crazy again!
Comment 2018-07-18 17:36:39 @mrchef111   Thanks! I try to get a variety of coins, rounds, and bars so it keeps things interesting. There are so many designs that I want to get a good mix of them. I haven't done a photo on my whole collection yet. Someone else asked about that a week or two ago and I told them that would be like doing a "greatest hits" album after coming out with two songs. Ha ha. I just started collecting recently, so although my collection is growing, it's still rather small. I'm planning on waiting until I reach bigger milestones before I do an overview. My favorite is often the most recent one that I got... but seriously, I really like the 1.5 ounce Canadian Polar Bear. I thought I had done a post on it, but I can't seem to find it right now, so I'll have to look again. If I haven't done one, then I'll dig it out and I can show you. Anything older than a day or two is really difficult to find, so no worries. I couldn't find it myself, so here's to hoping that I didn't actually write on it. That would be great because then I could have another idea for a post. ;)
Comment 2018-07-18 17:29:09 @silverd510   Discounts are the best. I'd love to load up more, but we have bills that need to be paid, so can't spend all our money on the shiny. Ha ha. Great! Glad you got entered. Regal is very generous and he's encouraged by more people getting involved.
Comment 2018-07-18 17:19:27 @teutonium    Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars will be proud of me! He would be impressed by your initiative... and then he would kill you for being a threat to his power. :P
Comment 2018-07-18 17:18:36 @glenalbrethsen   I wouldn't mind being a Dolphin. That starts at 5,000 SP. That's not a bad place to be. Although it would be fun to be a 45,000 SP Dolphin, because that's only 5k away from being an Orca! Ha ha. You'll be getting close to Dolphin status if you double your SP. When that happens... Look out, world! Poke away! I point out people's mistakes from time to time, so I should be able to take the correction as well. I wasn't thinking clearly. I don't think it's the computational load they're worried about. It's the loads of new alt accounts that get created to farm for rewards. By having a dust threshold, those don't add up as much. Yeah, the fluctuations are probably caused by other large accounts voting for things (themselves or otherwise) which lowers the amount that can be directed to you. It's all about percentage of the pool rewards. You don't actually have a specific amount that your vote is worth. It's just a rough estimation of the percentage of the reward pool that it's assigning. If larger accounts use their power to assign shares to others, then the share you assigned is proportionally smaller. It's rather convoluted. It would be nice if they did a forum and asked people to submit ideas. Even if they didn't hear arguments on them right away, even if they didn't act on all of them, even if they didn't do anything with them... it would still be nice to be heard.
Comment 2018-07-18 17:10:45 @surikowstepanuk   It's difficult to know where to start in trying to clarify if you don't understand anything that was written. Are there specific questions that you have about the what was presented?
Comment 2018-07-18 16:31:09 @papa-pepper   That's super cool. And like you said, it all happened because of the Steem blockchain and the people on it who were willing to try something new and bless other people.
Comment 2018-07-18 16:23:30 @bigram13   If you're right, it means Steem should follow. As the leader, Bitcoin has a lot of influence over the other tokens. It has been nice getting Steem more easily, but it would be nice to have higher rewards as well if the price rises.
Comment 2018-07-18 16:20:45 @dragosroua   Well that's complicated. It all seems rather convoluted. So the SEC isn't going to get involved now, but they could get involved later. Great.
Comment 2018-07-18 16:12:21 @everydaycoach   That's looking really good! Um, is that boat supposed to be on land? :)
Comment 2018-07-18 16:09:27 @goldenarms   Those are some nice Francs, GA. I like that they have silver in them as well. It gives it that olde-tymey look. :)
Comment 2018-07-18 15:44:39 @papa-pepper   I like turtles. They're one of my favorite animals. They carry their houses with them. They like to swim. And they're cute as can be. What's not to like? :) Although I think these could have been called the CornMaze turtles because of the pattern on the carapace. :P
Comment 2018-07-18 15:41:45 @humanearl   I'm sure there are plenty of people criticizing either/both of the players for the moves. They probably say that they have no loyalty, they're sellouts, they're just chasing a championship, or chasing money. To that I say, "That's right!" You're telling me that if someone from a rival company to the one you work at now offered you a lot more money to go work for them, you'd turn it down? No. You'd likely take the money so you could provide for your family. Granted there are extenuating circumstances, like if the company you work for it owned by your father or something... but sports teams aren't owned by the players or their families. Sports teams are just a business and while as fans we might have loyalty to a team, the players are trying to earn as much money as they can so they can care for their families. Good for both of them for seeing opportunities to pursue their dreams, or fulfill their goals. I still won't root for LeBron, but good for him for getting paid.
Comment 2018-07-18 15:36:00 @glenalbrethsen    No doubt, though, if Costco is like most businesses these days, they will feel compelled to retract and the polish dog will be restored. And then the vegan backlash can begin and they'll have to get rid of the chicken bake or something. :) That's pretty much life nowadays. You can't win and if you change anything you'll likely be crucified for it. That's why we can't have nice things, people don't like any change. I think you're right. I blame the internet too. Ha ha. By the way, just eat the sauerkraut straight out of the jar. It's delicious! ;)
Comment 2018-07-18 15:33:15 @teutonium   Hey, there are a lot of people who wouldn't mind being 24. If removing stress is part of that, you should do it. We'll write songs and stories about you and your eternal youth.
Comment 2018-07-18 15:31:45 @curatorcat   Ha ha, thanks. Once the comment started, it couldn't be stopped. I was going to win an Oscar once, but they knew I give long acceptance speeches, so they gave it to someone else. Oh, well. Be true to yourself, right? :D
Comment 2018-07-18 15:30:21 @glenalbrethsen   I would like the ability to choose where curation goes (i.e. keep it for myself or give it to the author) I think any vote should be paid out. I don't know if they look past 3 decimals, but a vote is a vote and should be paid. Dang it, I got my terminology confused. You're still a minnow. I meant red fish. Although, wouldn't that be cool if you were a dolphin? :)
Comment 2018-07-18 15:27:27 @janton    who is we? uh..your audience I guess. Fair enough. I wasn't making an assumption of anyone's age by posting about this token. I just liked the token and thought others might as well. I think there's a good mix of older and younger. I would say it's probably more the fringe people/non-conformists who have initially populated the Steemisphere. People who follow the mainstream probably aren't investing in crypto or posting on a crypto-based social media platform.
Comment 2018-07-18 15:22:36 @janton   That's different. If you're talking about an actual rare coin, the value is likely based on rarity, not weight. If you're talking about a coin made in the last 10 years, it's probably spot price + a premium. i.e. spot+ $3 = $18.55.
Comment 2018-07-18 15:20:30 @glenalbrethsen   The price really can't be beat. I don't think they've made money on those things for a long time, but people really liked the price so they kept it. Why not, if it's getting people in the door, right? It's called a loss leader. Hang in there. I hear there are petitions being started to bring the polish dog back. We'll see if it works.
Comment 2018-07-18 15:18:12 @glenalbrethsen   Hey, you're a legend, so if I came in second to you, I consider that as good as a win. Janton has been on a tear for the last five weeks, so if he's not off doing yard work, we probably will come in after him. I think a lot of people get things in their heads and need to deal with them before they can move on. It's like an itch that needs to get scratched. Maybe it will be something fun that she wants to do. If not, maybe you can get out of it. Then you can keep up the commenting streak.
Comment 2018-07-18 15:12:27 @janton   Seems like a pretty good code to live by. Definitely don't wake me for herd duty if it's not my turn. What if you have dual tires in the back because you tow things? Regardless, I have all regulation tires on my vehicle.
Comment 2018-07-18 05:08:00 @glenalbrethsen   I don't really see it as a manipulation. More of a correction of the wrong that is dust. It keeps people from getting paid what they should get and it slows down minnows. You're not a minnow, but it means that I could upvote your comment, but it wouldn't do anything. Regardless of what you choose to do with it, I'll respect your decision.
Comment 2018-07-18 04:40:30 @janton   I think papa-pepper helps out a lot of people. He's one of the good ones. Whatever the price goes down is how much the price drops. It's around $1.50 cheaper per ounce now than it was a month ago. That all goes either to saving money, or in my case... buying more silver.
Comment 2018-07-18 04:38:54 @davemccoy   Smart man. I like to buy while things are on sale. :) Take your time. I'd still like to see the pictures when you get a chance though.
Comment 2018-07-18 04:22:18 @janton   Who is "we"? Yeah, I really like the design. I think the trees and such would make a really nice coin or round design... heck, even a bar. I'm glad you didn't think it was "totally stupid, lame and retarded." That wasn't what I was going for, so it would have been a letdown. The rarity rating is just based on what collectors on Numista have said they have in their collections. I wouldn't take it as scientific fact, but it does give a good idea of where things are at.
Comment 2018-07-18 03:58:33 @willsparks88   I don't know that I've seen a Mercury dime in as good of condition as that one. You should get a pretty penny... or a stack of bills for that one. :)
Comment 2018-07-18 03:56:33 @fulltimegeek   Ha ha, how long did it take you to write that? Now I have to find MIB so I can watch it again. It has been a while.
Comment 2018-07-18 03:52:18 @davemccoy   Good stuff. I just got a little more today. I just keep buying regardless of the price, but I have extra incentive when the prices are low.
Comment 2018-07-18 03:49:06 @raybrockman   I should have known not to leave the keyboard. Now that I know there's a post coming tomorrow, I'll be looking for it.
Comment 2018-07-18 03:46:36 @goldenarms   I love seeing pics of your one ounce silver bar collection. It's gorgeous. Makes me want to get more. I just started on bars and they're amazing. #lifegoals
Comment 2018-07-18 03:44:57 @wonderwop   It's not always easy, but it's nice that you're helping him out while he's in a hard spot. And it's true, the banks don't pay much at all. Might as well help someone out. If he doesn't want to buy it back, then you still got a great deal!
Comment 2018-07-18 03:43:39 @glenalbrethsen   We all get it wrong sometimes. For what it's worth, I'm glad Costco is still around. What? They're taking away the polish dogs? That's crazy talk! I hadn't realized that was happening. All good things come to an end, I guess. There's always the hot dog. Or you can buy the polish dogs in bulk and grill them at home. Or you can get one of the new healthier options. :P
Comment 2018-07-18 03:40:06 @glenalbrethsen   Yeah, that would be great if you could make posts from a book that you had written. Then you would be getting to double-dip. Extra security is nice too. Especially if the job isn't too bad. Then you would have more for the savings account, more for crypto maybe, and possibly even money for...... SILVER!!!! :D I've been commenting at higher levels than normal as well, so we'll see where that places me. Sometimes I get off to a good start, but then I slow down as the week goes on. I can't spend all my time on Steemit. I would have no issues losing out to you though. It would be an honor to be your runner up!
Comment 2018-07-18 03:37:33 @ilovepoorpeople   Well, thank you. It's nice of you. Wouldn't that be fun if we all had big enough votes that we could make minnows out of deserving plankton that we saw? Ha ha. "Get em, team" BAM, Minnow!
Comment 2018-07-18 03:36:00 @teutonium   Good stuff, man. I'm right there with you. I would much rather drive a $10,000 car that I own than have a $250,000 car that I lease or own. I would rather be free than have flashy stuff. It's nice to see someone else writing about it too though because in crypto world, it really is all about the Lambo.
Comment 2018-07-18 03:33:48 @glenalbrethsen   I learned quickly that the best way to avoid looking stupid in class was to answer one of the first questions that you knew. If you had already answered a question, then the teacher likely wouldn't call on you. Makes it nice for when there are questions that you don't know the answer to. Ha ha
Comment 2018-07-18 03:31:57 @sbsparts   Wow, that is lovely! Seriously, that's a thing of beauty. And it's so nice that you can easily break it apart into smaller units that you could use for trade. Sadly, that's it for today That's it? That was amazing, it was! :D
Comment 2018-07-18 03:28:24 @jbcoin   Wow, that's quite the haul! It is a great time to buy, so good for you for having the money to buy in while the prices are down. Enjoy!
Comment 2018-07-18 03:26:00 @wonderwop   That's a good story: short, but sweet. That's nice of you to give him the option to buy the bar back at the same price (plus the 12 pack). Not many people would do that. Good for you!
Comment 2018-07-18 03:23:48 @glenalbrethsen   I don't pay attention to the votes on my comments either. It's too much hassle and no payoff for it. That's why I really like dustsweeper. Then I know that if someone upvotes a comment, but it's not enough, I'll still get paid out and their vote will matter. Most newbs don't know their votes don't matter on comments, so it's nice to make their votes count. I drop a lot of dust, but hopefully people are able to sweep it too. I don't want it to go to waste, but I don't want to leave them with nothing. Do you use dustsweeper?
Comment 2018-07-18 03:21:21 @janton   Heh, sorry to foil you again. Hey, look out your window! Just kidding. That's very nice of Papa to get you Armadilloman stuff. He does the same for me with votes. Every once in a while I get lit up. It's a nice boost. I really like that Stagecoach bar. I almost bought another one today when I saw it at the store, but I picked a different one instead as the price on the stagecoach had gone up. I was hoping to get more than I bought today, but the selection wasn't as great as I had hoped, so I decided to hold the rest of my money for later.
Comment 2018-07-18 03:17:51 @glenalbrethsen   I will forgive you for not reading the story if I don't get back to it until 2084. That is acceptable. I'll see what I can do. I had some that were partially written, but I never got around to re-writing and having my lovely assistant proof read them. If the shiny slows down (which it has been) and I can get it looked over, I may do another post on it.
Comment 2018-07-18 02:50:45 @glenalbrethsen   I'd like it to drop below $1 before it shoots back up for good. Then those who stay will be able to load up on Steem at a good price. Those who aren't committed will leave and those who stay will be able to get rewarded. I love Costco! Say it ain't so. :)
Comment 2018-07-18 02:49:06 @glenalbrethsen   Let me know when you post it. I'll give it a read. I started something for it, but I'm not sure that I like how it was going, so I haven't gotten past the first part. I might use it for something else later.
Comment 2018-07-18 02:47:45 @britcoin   Gave you my vote from Minnow Support. Enjoy! Still loving those Sovereigns. :)
Comment 2018-07-18 02:43:12 @lynncoyle1   Thanks for the update, Lynn. As I said in one of our other conversations, I try to take time before I respond so I can think for a while. I don't really plan anything out, I just wait so it can marinate in my head. It's a difficult situation that you're in, so do what works for you. If giving an update works, do it. If you don't have the time/strength/emotional energy, don't do it. We'll survive without the update. I know a lot of people do appreciate the update, even if it's not good news. It was good news that the Burning Mouth Syndrome had stopped. The adrenal glands swelling sucks though. He's a real hero for the way that he has been fighting through the pain so he can stay longer. I know you'll cherish the time, even though it's hard... and you'll continue to appreciate the sacrifices that he's making for you. Likewise, I know that you bring Brian a lot of joy, so it's his pleasure to sacrifice for you so he can make you smile. It's not easy for you and I know he would lift that burden if he could, but he chooses the path that he feels will make you happier. I'm still very proud of you both. It's a terrible thing you're going through, but the picture you present of marriage is a beautiful one. It demonstrates what real love is. It's not a feeling, an emotion, or a thing from a movie... it's two people who choose each other every day regardless of the pain they are going through. It's inspiring to me, and I think to others as well. As always, if there's something I can do to help, please let me know. Bless you both!
Comment 2018-07-18 02:32:33 @glenalbrethsen   I look forward to seeing the results of your experiment. And I'm curious what this "something else" might be. I'll have to wait though.
Comment 2018-07-18 02:31:21 @glenalbrethsen   When you're young, it's easier to care more what people think about you. That can keep you from asking questions and getting answers you want. When you're older/when you don't care what people think and you focus on your goals without fears of people not liking you... normally you're able to be more at peace, and you get where you want to go while making fewer mistakes. Good for you for asking questions and taking advantage of the opportunities you had.
Comment 2018-07-18 02:19:54 @papa-pepper   Having food-producing animals is such a great way to use your food scraps. Just give it to the chickens and they'll recycle it into eggs. And then you can eat that too. It's the circle of food being readied for you.
Comment 2018-07-18 02:17:06 @glenalbrethsen   I like that. I try to operate the same way. I don't have billions in the bank, but I do have more than I'll need to get groceries this week. So I give. When I have tons of money (literally tons... of silver. Ha ha) then I'll be a place where I already have the giving habits established. I can do the same here too.
Comment 2018-07-18 02:09:09 @glenalbrethsen   I also try to limit the time I spend on posts. That's part of why I haven't been as motivated to do posts for The Man with No Name series. It takes probably 3-4 hours or more for each post. The organic votes just aren't there to justify that kind of time. Also, it's more enjoyable to post on precious metals, even if I get more of a sense of accomplishment by posting TMWNN series.
Comment 2018-07-18 02:04:54 @glenalbrethsen   It's hard to tell why the prices go up or down. It seems like it should go up, but it goes down. It seems like it should go down, it goes up. It's bassakwards. I don't know what to make of it, but I do know that cheaper silver means I get more of it for each of my dollars, so I don't complain. I would love to see it at $10. That would be amazing. I would buy up all the silver. All of it. :P Bitcoin is on the move for now. I don't know if this is the big wave, or if we're waiting for something else. It jumped hundreds of dollars in less than half an hour. Seems like it would need some larger players to do that. I'm just saying. If Bitcoin keeps rising, I think Steem will too. I have yet to see if that will happen though. Don't worry. I won't take it as investment advice. I will do my own homework, and I will consider it for its pure entertainment value only. :) Heh, good man. You already know the drill.
Comment 2018-07-18 02:00:24 @mrchef111   Hey, it still sounds like you've got a good start... and most people don't have ancient Roman coins in their collections, so you have a leg up there. Looking forward to seeing them when you have a chance.
Comment 2018-07-18 01:58:48 @britcoin   Awesome! Thanks. I'm trying different ways of getting you new followers. I've been including links to your contest on all of my posts. Has anyone mentioned they found you from that?
Comment 2018-07-18 01:43:30 @teutonium   Ha ha! I love it when people invent stories like that. I do it all the time. If I don't know the history of something, I make up a fun story to make things more interesting.
Comment 2018-07-18 01:40:30 @glenalbrethsen   I missed the entire year of 1946 because I had time traveled back to the 1800s to attend to some business. When I came back, I came to 1947, so I didn't see the token. I could do a story on it. See if you can crank one out first, and if you aren't able, maybe I'll write one. Or maybe I'll get inspired and just scribble one out. raining cats, dogs, hyenas and assorted deep sea creatures. Ha ha ha, that would be a sight to see. I might travel to a place to see that happen. Although it's probably a cyclone, so I wouldn't want to be close to it. I'll just stick with the regular rain, thank you very much!
Comment 2018-07-18 01:36:30 @ronaldoavelino   Congrats! That's super cool. I haven't seen much of that, but good for you for seeing such a great opportunity and taking advantage of it.
Comment 2018-07-18 01:35:51 @knowledge-seeker   I'm surprised that they're as low as they are. The guy at the coin store today said that he's losing money on everything he's selling.
Comment 2018-07-18 01:35:15 @glenalbrethsen   From what I understand, you get $0.004 per page that someone reads. So if you have a longer book, you could get a semi-decent amount of money from each reader. I know what you mean about doing better sticking with one project. Sometimes that's the best way to do it because then all your attentions are on it and you can complete it then move one. Hopefully it wouldn't mean that you have to stop Steemit, but that's a bridge you might have to cross later.
Comment 2018-07-18 01:31:51 @janton   Yeah, he and I go way back on Steemit. I started following him shortly after I started. I even tried voting for him as a witness before I realized that you had to run a server to be a witness. Ha ha. It didn't work. I tend to see more planting than harvesting, but I do it anyways. I still think it's important to do. I know there have been some people who have planted into my life and I like helping others with the same. Yep, he gave a state. Sometimes I go there. Sometimes I leave there. I don't stay in one spot all the time, so it's good to have a permanent address where stuff can accumulate. :) Ha ha, poor Janton, so close and yet so far away!
Comment 2018-07-18 01:26:54 @glenalbrethsen    Well, my vote is worth 2.5 times less than it was before this latest dip, and I'm already voting into tomorrow's rations. :) I know that feeling. Sorry, I've stopped doing more than initial votes on comments and such because my vote isn't worth a ton. I try to save some VP so when people comment on my post I can give them a little vote. Still, hopefully they use dustsweeper. Yeah, don't go intentionally pissing people off. If they want to vote for you without commenting or engaging you, that's fine. They just won't get a vote back on their comments. I try to be nice, but I've thought about what I would do if I had millions of SP. I'd love to encourage some behaviors and discourage others. I'd also like to enable the community leaders more. Think of what a month of dropping huge votes on community leaders would do! :)
Comment 2018-07-18 01:22:36 @ronaldoavelino   That token is older than a lot of people. Numista doesn't have everything, but sometimes it surprises you.
Comment 2018-07-18 01:20:51 @silversaver888   I'm all about that buying! It's nice that it's cheaper. I like saving $1.50 each one.
Comment 2018-07-18 01:20:06 @glenalbrethsen   I don't spend a lot of time in photography posts because more often than not, it's just going to be "nice post" material. I don't know what else I would say. Sometimes I'm not thrilled with my comments, but I leave them anyways. I do the same with posts from time to time. Better to get something out than do nothing.
Comment 2018-07-18 00:14:57 @abh12345   Sorry, didn't meant to spoil your thunder or get ahead of you. Hopefully you'll get the vote! Ha ha.
Comment 2018-07-17 23:52:51 @mrchef111   That would be cool to see a video on your coins. Feel free to tag me in the post so I make sure to see it!
Comment 2018-07-17 23:51:27 @silveringots   Yeah, Bitcoin jumped and everything else followed suit. I wish I could have gotten more silver, but I'm actually hoping that the price gets pushed down to $15. Then I would be able to get a bit more. And I'd have more time in the meantime to get more money together.
Comment 2018-07-17 23:50:03 @gdwcoins   Thanks! I just wanted to make sure that I get the notifications for it. It would be nice if Steemit would suggest something different if you put a name tat isn't one of your followers/following. Looking forward to this contest.
Comment 2018-07-17 23:46:33 @ilovepoorpeople   Aww, thank you for featuring my post! It's nice of you to highlight people. Every little bt of good exposure helps.
Comment 2018-07-17 20:56:36 @gdwcoins   Sweet, I got Arsenal! Hopefully they do well this year. @gdwcoins, could you add "the" to the front of my name? Then it will ping me when you post. It happens all the time. I chose a very long name. Ha ha. Thanks!
Comment 2018-07-17 20:46:45 @silverstackeruk   Thanks, man! I actually thought twice about using the SSG tag for it, but it's only slightly to the side of our core, so I figured it would count. Don't worry, I won't use the tag for my high-speed knitting posts! ;)
Comment 2018-07-17 20:44:48 @glenalbrethsen   You're already a published author. Have you thought of working on more books that you could publish. Even if you just write them for publication on Amazon Unlimited, you still get something when people read it. I don't know how long it takes to come up with the stuff, but it could be another small stream of revenue. I'm just brainstorming. No pressure at all.
Comment 2018-07-17 20:42:57 @glenalbrethsen   I don't really care if I vote for people I like. Not every post that every author I follow is going to resound with me, but that's ok. The group of authors that I like I vote for. That's how it is. Most people aren't super into coins, but I still get a lot of votes from the people I started with, presumably because they value me as an author. Also, I try to spread my votes around a lot, so maybe that's a factor. I don't really know. My vote isn't worth much, so who knows? Hey, congrats on that 4th flag. If you were playing flag football, you'd be doing really well. Four flags is a lot in flag football. :)
Comment 2018-07-17 20:35:33 @glenalbrethsen   I didn't factor in the votes and unique votes at all, so it's just a rough guess. I feel like I just need to shadow you all. Not just one of you but all of you. That might not be as creepy. Ha ha, yeah, you don't want people thinking you're weird! Or do you? Hmm, that could be a whole new angle that we haven't tried. Just kidding. Stick with shadowing everyone. I don't use tags to search for stuff very much, but I have done it... and it works. Sometimes you can find a person who posts mainly photos and you can just leave them a shorter comment on what you liked about it. Doesn't have to be a thesis, just what you like about the picture of how it makes you feel. I don't know. I'm just throwing out ideas. I really don't know how to do it.
Comment 2018-07-17 20:30:27 @silversaver888   Thank you! It's a beauty. :)
Comment 2018-07-17 20:28:15 @teutonium   Right?! Ha ha. I hope that wasn't the case. Maybe they bought an extra one anticipating that they were going to use it, and then they bought a car instead and forgot about the token. I still don't know how it got from there to me. I have no memory of acquiring it.
Comment 2018-07-17 20:27:06 @janton   I think the contest runs through the end of the week. We'll see! Thanks for the vote of confidence. :)
Comment 2018-07-17 20:26:21 @mrchef111   Well, thanks for stopping by! Papa-pepper is an awesome guy. It has been a pleasure following him. Do you ever post on your coin collection? I wouldn't mind seeing those roman coins... or the three cent piece. If you post them, I recommend using steemsilvergold as one of the tags. That's the primary tag for the silver and gold stackers on here.
Comment 2018-07-17 20:12:27 @glenalbrethsen   You're right that there's a difference between doing something wrong because you don't know or haven't done it before, and knowing better and still doing it wrong. Learning mistakes are things that can help us grow as people if we'll look at them as growth opportunities. If we get too focused on not doing anything wrong, then we'll clam up and not evolve or grow. "Anything made out of silver, regardless of when it was made, is still made out of silver." —glenalbrethsen Wise man right there!
Comment 2018-07-17 19:42:57 @infidel1258   Glad things are improving! Here's to hoping that continues! I once betrayed a partner and left him in the desert to die. He was Ugly, but tough, so he survived. Apparently he wasn't happy about that, so he came back and forced me to walk through the desert for days in the burning sun. The only thing that saved me was that I got the location of a buried treasure from a dying Cavalryman and my Ugly "friend" had to keep me alive to tell him the name of the grave where the treasure was buried. I've been a little... "off" since then. Also, that was back 150 years ago. I was in my 30s then, so I don't think I'm doing too poorly for a 180ish year old. ;) Ha ha
Comment 2018-07-17 18:15:15 @abh12345   That's interesting. I hadn't even thought to look into that and it seems it would be difficult to do so, but it appears that you were able to quantify it. I'm glad that you think there isn't a gender bias. There are a lot of good content producers on Steemit (like in real life) and they all deserve the same shot at getting noticed. Thanks for running the numbers and filling us in. I'm rather surprised that you didn't include a dTube video to present the analysis. I wonder if you would have gotten a vote. ;)
Comment 2018-07-17 17:31:15 @glenalbrethsen   I can see how it would be challenging to have employees. Things don't always work out and it can be tough to deal with the parting. I hope that either Steem picks up and you're able to start getting some serious rewards, or that you're able to find some work that you enjoy doing so you don't have to jump through all the hoops. Gotta put food on the table and it's tough to do that if you're not happy with what you're doing.
Comment 2018-07-17 17:25:51 @glenalbrethsen    I got the "Worst Curator Period" award. Ha ha ha, that's ok. Steemit hasn't been about curation rewards for quite some time. So I don't even worry about it. I'm with you in that I think that if someone wants to vote on a post, they should do it and it should count. In fact, I think people should be able to set where they want their curation to go. I would just set mine to give it all to the author (that's why I'm voting after all, not to get rewards back) and leave it. Oh well. There would be too much abuse from that. And people all have their alt accounts, so they can just self-reward using those accounts. There's always a way around the system.
Comment 2018-07-17 17:22:36 @glenalbrethsen   Hey, I'm proud of you! This was a shorter comment. You're making progress. Heh. Nah, you're doing great. It's mainly just being intentional about engaging and not wasting a bunch of time doing things that aren't going to actually impact your score (if the score is the main goal). I'm not sure if there's a multiplier that is like (comments/100) x (CL/100). Actually, that's plausible. I wonder if I just cracked the code. :D
Comment 2018-07-17 17:13:12 @cecicastor   :)
Comment 2018-07-17 17:01:06 @janton   That's a good point, it could have a contamination effect, but I have it isolated, so it should be safe. Thanks for pointing that out though. I wouldn't have wanted to have the whole collection go down the drain. :)
Comment 2018-07-17 16:49:00 @papa-pepper   I'm glad you got it! I like giving people seeds for things that could be. It takes a seed to start a plant, so I figured it should be the same way in life. Hopefully this seed blossoms into much more! It really is a pleasure getting to see your adventures, and I really appreciate the value that you bring to the community. I didn't realize it had been two years on Steemit for you, so Happy Anniversary!
Comment 2018-07-17 04:21:09 @britcoin   I'd get one if I could, but I don't have enough for a full Sovereign. Thanks for offering though. How do you get them so cheaply? If that's a secret too, just email me so you don't have to put it out there for everyone to see. Ha ha.
Comment 2018-07-17 04:18:45 @britcoin   Those Sovereigns are so nice. I don't see a lot of those around here in the USA. You're inspiring me. You also let slip in this video that there's a 1/2 pound Sovereign. That might be the sort of coin that would be in reach for me at this point. I'll have to work up to the 5 pound ones, but I'd like to get a start, and knowing there's a coin that has only 0.1176 troy ounces means I could potentially get it for around $160. We all have to start somewhere. You must have read my mind to answer that question before I asked it. Thanks for that. :)
Comment 2018-07-17 04:11:33 @britcoin   15 of them! That's nice. Do you normally get them as individuals in capsules, or do you get a tube of 25? You get a lot of PF70 or MS 70 coins. Is there also a base layer to your stack that's made up of bullion such as these?
Comment 2018-07-17 04:01:45 @glenalbrethsen   There really isn't much subtlety in our humor. It's all fart jokes and such. I hope you're able to feel more inspired tomorrow. But if you're not, that's ok too. Enjoy yourself here. That's one of the best ways to long-term success. Otherwise, you'll just burn out.
Comment 2018-07-17 03:59:39 @glenalbrethsen   There are some people who welcome people, but a better question might be, "Are the people that people are welcoming, really people?" More often than not, I feel like they're bots of alt accounts. I like that you call it "selective viewing." I agree. There are some things I don't want to see, and if it's my post and my comments section, I should be able to decide what gets said there. There might be some communities that don't want me. Like the community of the short comments. :) That's a very good point! Ha ha.
Comment 2018-07-17 03:56:54 @glenalbrethsen   I think I've heard this story from you in bits and pieces. It's sad to read about, but I appreciate you sharing. I feel like I know you a little better as I read about your struggles in the business. It sounds like some of the personnel issues were tough to deal with, but also sounds like you handled them well. I'm sorry that things didn't work out. I hope you're able to either make progress here or find something that you like and will pay you well. It's not easy being in a place where you have enough, but not a lot. Don't settle for less.
Comment 2018-07-17 03:47:06 @glenalbrethsen   The votes that go out that are 0.001 are probably from a curation trail. It helps get votes out and attention to things so hopefully it gets the author more exposure. I don't know if it actually works, but I think that's the idea. I don't know how much curation it gets. I'm definintely not the guy to ask. I get terrible curation. I think I saw somewhere that I got an award for "Worst Curator on Steemit" or something like that. I upvote too many of my friends at 0 minutes so they get extra rewards for their posts. It sucks for the other curators, but that's how I want to play the game. I'd rather reward my friends.
Comment 2018-07-17 03:43:54 @glenalbrethsen   I saw that you had about 10,000 more in comment length than he did, but he had almost 1,000 comments overall. I have been doing a mix of long and short comments and that seems to be working. I'm not sure how the factors play off each other, but if they do then having CL high, but C low won't help as much. It would make more sense to have them both medium. I don't know though. I don't know how ASher does the equation. It would be interesting to see though! Although I doubt he'd share that with everyone. As it is there's an air of mystery around it. If people knew the formula, it would make it more calculating rather than engaging. I used to be a perfectionist. I did too! Maybe I still am. I had to give it up as well and instead aim for excellence. That's a much more easily obtained goal. Perfection can never be reached. Excellence means that you put in the time and effort, you work well and do your best, and if that's all you can do... then you move on. That's it. Don't beat yourself up or punish yourself for falling short of perfection. It's still great! Be pleased with that. Well, that's what I learned. I'm trying to perfect (procrastination). Ha ha!
Comment 2018-07-17 03:38:36 @lynncoyle1   I was up very early (for me) on Sunday. It seemed like it was at least two days in length because of how many hours I was awake. I also have noisy neighbors, so I don't sleep well. Hopefully one day they'll be quiet. :) Enjoy your early night!
Comment 2018-07-17 03:36:27 @janton   Thank you! I appreciate that.
Comment 2018-07-17 03:36:06 @bobaphet   Good for you. I see that you're in Australia, so they do take some time to get there from the USA. I hope you get them soon. I got mine and they're lovely. I think you'll be very pleased.
Comment 2018-07-17 03:34:12 @janton   There are still a lot of things that medical professionals don't know about Stakitus. I have some insight because I have contracted the affliction, but until such time as the professionals either study it closely or contract it themselves, there will be a lot of mystery about it.
Comment 2018-07-17 03:32:39 @glenalbrethsen   I think you tend to have a drier sense of humor. That's how most of mine comes off too. Rather dry and sort of morbid. Ha ha. Self-deprecation is also in my wheelhouse. Thanks for getting most of my jokes. If you don't get it, it's probably because it's from some stupid tv show. In which case, Lynn gets it. :D
Comment 2018-07-17 03:30:24 @glenalbrethsen   I like the idea of an opt-in much better. It's much less invasive. Steemcleaners isn't a bot. Every comment that is made by them was submitted by a person. It may use a form, but it's all manual. I agree that it's annoying that there are so many auto-follow bots. Some of them run by prominent Steemians even encourage a follow-for-follow mentality. It's not what we need welcoming new people. Make it a requirement to follow the bot to have it comment on your stuff sounds like a good idea to me.
Comment 2018-07-17 03:27:54 @glenalbrethsen   Yes, they'll never run out of VP. It's mathematically impossible. Just like it's mathematically impossible for an offense to score a touchdown by the defense committing and offsides penalty. Or for a defense to score a safety by the offense committing a false start. It can't happen. On the bright side, if it's at the point where it's below 5% VP, the account cant' do much damage. There aren't many accounts that can. Especially if they can manage to recuperate faster than they spend. What kind of infernal inversion is that? Everyone recovers 20% per day. - That's 0.8333% per hour. - That's 0.0138% per minute If they're casting votes with 0.69VP or less, they should be recharging faster than they'll spend.... if my math is correct. That's very little VP, so it wouldn't have much effect.
Comment 2018-07-17 03:22:24 @glenalbrethsen   That's good you like yourself. I haven't always been satisfied with my achievements either, but we have to press on anyways. I tend to have unrealistic expectations of myself sometimes, so it's important to give myself credit for doing what I can. If I don't have control over something, I can' hold myself responsible for its actions or results. I believe in you. You've put up some very high scores, and I think you can do it again. This is your week!
Comment 2018-07-16 20:07:42 @infidel1258   It's no fun being sick as an adult who can express what hurts or doesn't feel good. It must be much more frustrating for children who aren't able to necessarily articulate what they would like to feel better. Are they feeling better? I'm not sure which of my movies this was from. That was a period of my life that I don't remember well, so I had to get a license-free picture from one of the free-to-use sites. It's sad, but that's where I'm at. Remember, I'm really old so it's tough to remember everything. Ha ha. For all I know, I could have a name and just not be able to recall it! :)
Comment 2018-07-16 20:03:21 @headchange    Even before we met your name proceeded you. ...Ironic since you haven't one. ha ha ha. Wow, I didn't realize that I had been creating a name for myself. I won't quite change my name to "Comment King" just yet as Janton was once again the winner of abh12345's Engagement League this week. But I'll take it as a compliment. Thank you! Oooh, I forgot about the nap part. Naps definitely can help. Why is it that when you don't feel well, it can be harder to nap... and you crave sugar. You need the naps and don't need the sugar, but your body seems to want what's bad. At least mine does sometimes. :P
Comment 2018-07-16 18:51:48 @hananali   Yes, it is an older coin. Thanks
Comment 2018-07-16 18:49:21 @ronaldoavelino    Remember, though, that these prices are for PCGS slabbed coins. Good to know. The slabbing cost adds to the price of most coins. You can have a coin that's just a standard, modern coin, but if it has been slabbed, it's worth more. Ha ha. I don't think I'm in a rush to get it graded or to sell it. I was just curious what I actually had.
Comment 2018-07-16 18:47:57 @teutonium   Thanks, that makes sense. I'll probably just hang onto it and somewhere down the road I might try to get it graded and sell it. For now though, it can sit in its new protective shell and look pretty.
Comment 2018-07-16 18:46:48 @vgholdingsllc   Thanks! They have a lot of good information there. I'm not sure how the toning would come into play. I probably won't actually have it graded as that would likely be more than the coin is worth, but it's still fun to have.
Comment 2018-07-16 18:37:33 @lynncoyle1   They don't have to be silver to be pretty. They don't necessarily even need to be coins. I've got one for tomorrow that I must have picked up long ago that I'm looking forward to showing off.
Comment 2018-07-16 18:36:27 @glenalbrethsen   I realized after reading the your first comment that I was going to be commenting on old material, so rather than responding to @lynncoyle1's comment and then yours, I'll just come here. I've decided to throw back in. YAY! I'm glad you're going to be in it to win it again. I think it was very generous of you to give up rewards for the time you did. I think the mission of getting other people fired up was accomplished and I look forward to seeing your results this coming week! You know how things go, sometimes people have down weeks in the competition and you may be able to take the crown without having to do quite that much. You never really know. Ha ha, I'm glad you two were amused by my tribute to myself. I just copied the list from Asher's post and then started congratulating people. I got to my name, and I figured "why not?"! Once I started going, I figured exactly what you said, Glen, "go big or go home." I'm not normally in the business of self-aggrandizement, but I figured I could make an exception. :P
Comment 2018-07-16 18:30:54 @glenalbrethsen   It seems like you've been getting enough competition that maybe you could start getting rewards again and potentially unthrone Janton. I'm just saying. Ha ha, I just started thinking of things I could say to myself and then wrote them down. I don't do all of them as well as I could, but it's important to have a goal to work towards. I do like myself though. And that's important too.
Comment 2018-07-16 18:07:09 @headchange   Well, I think this is probably one of the best comments ever! I'm glad that it had you "rolling around the floor in fits of glee." Ha ha. Don't worry about negative karma for laughing. It's supposed to elicit that response. And although painful at the time, it is humorous now. Funny how time works like that. Thanks for the tip on colloidal silver. It's one of the remedies that I like. I try to get one with as small of particles as possible so that it gets in and out easier. It's supposed to help when it gets in, but then it needs to pass out as the body isn't supposed to have buildups of heavy metals in it. And I definitely don't want to turn smurf blue. Although I wouldn't blame you for laughing at my picture if I did. :P
Comment 2018-07-16 18:02:39 @holybranches   Thanks, I enjoy spending time with my family.
Comment 2018-07-16 17:57:30 @glenalbrethsen   Yes, there are ongoing contests. I think it goes for like 24 rounds and this is round 22. I don't know what happens after that. This was my first time. I don't think you have to be nominated. I think you can just post away. If you want to give it a shot, I support that. I won't be climbing in your head, but hopefully I'll still get the gist of things. :)
Comment 2018-07-16 17:55:39 @glenalbrethsen   I think that if someone creates a bot, they should create an opt-out for it. It's that simple. Or you should be able to block them from following you. They could still have access to your stuff, but they couldn't automatically see all your posts because they were blocked from following. Another thing I would like to see is the ability of the post creator to hide content they don't approve of. It would still be there, but the post creator could hide it without having to use flags to get rid of it. As things stand now, someone can post a reply to your posts and put any kind of pornographic or whatever image, words, gif in it. There's nothing you can do about it other than flag or ask them to remove it. Normally the type of people who put that stuff up aren't eh kind to take it down. I actually saw an example of this on someone's blog. The author had asked and the person didn't remove it.... so I flagged it. And it disappeared because I had a delegation at the time and my vote was powerful enough. As it is, I don't think I could block something posted on my own post. The way I see it, it's my post, I should be able to control the conversation. Yes, people should have freedom, but it's not freedom to permit anyone to walk into your house and start saying whatever they want without consequence. People get too __ (fill in the blank) because it's online and they say things they shouldn't because of anonymity/lack of personal connection/don't see the other username as a person. It's complicated, but I think more control should be afforded to post owners. If someone has a thought they feel is getting "censored" on someone else's post... they can always just make their own post out of it. Then if someone wants to silence the idea, they'll have to flag it.
Comment 2018-07-16 17:45:51 @glenalbrethsen   Sounds totally plausible. You can't actually get to 0% VP. Even if you were at 0.01% VP, if you voted again, it would only take 2% of that, so you'd probably have your VP recharging faster than you could use it at that point. They can just keep bouncing off the bottom and they'll recharge 20% (of 100, not if their current power level) every day. So if they got down to 4 or 5%, they would be back up to around 22% VP right now. Remember, each vote (or flag) is based off the current VP. So if you cast a 50% power vote while you're at 50% VP, you'll only lose 0.5% of your total VP. At that level, you can cast 40 of those votes per day. That's assuming that you wait until the VP recharges to 50%. If you just cast them all at once, you could cast even more because the VP won't have recharged yet, so it will be based on the lower VP.
Comment 2018-07-16 17:39:57 @sponge-bob   Right on! Sounds like you found a good niche there. Are most of your customers are international since the economic state where you're at isn't the most stable?
Comment 2018-07-16 17:38:15 @summertooth   Saying stuff like that isn't going to impress them with how uneducated or inexperienced they are. It's only going to help solidify in their minds that you're really old and completely out of touch with the modern world (regardless of whether or not that's true). Still, I also remember when we only have one phone and it was on the wall. It was a big day when we finally got gasp cordless phones... and there were TWO of them!!! Wow, that was the day. Man, I'm sure feeling old now. Time to watch some silent movies so I can feel young comparatively. Ha ha.
Comment 2018-07-16 17:33:42 @bobaphet   That first order could be what gets you into fully-infected mode. Be careful. :) What rounds did you order? Steem Silver Rounds? Thanks for stopping by!
Comment 2018-07-16 17:31:48 @belemo   I'm glad you liked it! It's tough to know if the audience is goig to connect with it, so I'm glad you picked up on it. :)
Comment 2018-07-16 16:57:09 @getonthetrain   I think part of the issue is there's so much money flowing around and so many banks are trying to close more and more loans to keep their growth up that they're pushing loans on people who can't afford them. Rather than being comfortable with decent growth, they have to have maximum growth so they can get bigger bonuses. That means doing things that aren't in the best interests of their clients, shareholders (long-term), or the economy. It seems we learned nothing from the last crash.
Comment 2018-07-16 16:54:51 @hananali   Thanks, I'm glad you like the coin.
Comment 2018-07-16 16:53:51 @welshstacker   Hopefully we learn. I have made some mistakes in life a few times. Eventually I figure things out though. Ha ha. Yeah, this one was embarrassing, but at least I still ended up with silver out of the deal. Ha ha.
Comment 2018-07-16 16:52:21 @janton   You're right, it wasn't the biggest of mistakes. It's still got what counts and even if I didn't get the best price per ounce on it, I'm still glad to have it in my collection.
Comment 2018-07-16 16:08:27 @galenkp   Ha ha, you're freezing cold, but she wants you to help her swim so you can't leave. Life is rough. At least she's getting better at her g'day, mate. It's difficult to do and only true Aussies can do it, so if she can do it correctly, that would automatically get her residency status in Australia, if I remember correctly.
Comment 2018-07-16 16:05:18 @janton   Well, it's not always easy to get to the coin store. And the really difficult part is getting the money to exchange for coins.
Comment 2018-07-16 16:04:15 @janton   Yes, Constitutional silver are the silver quarters and dimes. It's not as easy as saying that if I am willing to drive farther that I truly have Stakitus. It's complicated. If you're hungry, but the only two places are one that is closer that you like and one that is farther away, but isn't good... you can't say that you're not hungry just because you won't drive to the farther one. If it's not going to satisfy you, then there might not be a reason for going. So even in my current state, I know that the other store would sate my current cravings. Therefore, I hold off until such time as the closer store opens. :)
Comment 2018-07-16 05:00:42 @getonthetrain   The problem in the area where I live is that the prices are just not sustainable. They're so high that only the people with the best jobs can afford to live anywhere close to the city. The prices keep going up. Don't know when it's going to break, but it's showing no signs of stopping.
Comment 2018-07-16 04:25:09 @sponge-bob   That's nice of you to just take what they give you without question. Although it seems like they can only try to fool you once. I wonder if the guy knew he was actually giving you a fake. What line of work are you in?
Comment 2018-07-16 04:23:30 @dwingsworld   I'm glad I'm not the only one. They are really cool. And if I needed to barter with them, it's probably easier to use a $10 coin than a $17 one. Those are with today's prices though. If I actually needed to barter with it, the price probably would have increased dramatically. Happy to share. I still need to read the article, but I'm glad to have been added to the crew!
Comment 2018-07-16 04:18:30 @janton   Yeah, I was putting a lot of time and effort into it at one point. I haven't done much in quite a while though. It takes a lot of energy to do.
Comment 2018-07-16 04:17:36 @lynncoyle1   Oh, you're welcome! You have been working hard all over the place and a lot that you do doesn't even show up in the stats, so you earned it. I was awake and ended up going for it once I started. It's funny, that was written today, but it feels like it was at least a few days ago. It's been a long day.
Comment 2018-07-16 04:16:15 @janton   The closer coin store is the one I like going to. They have a wider selection of generic rounds than the other one. They are closed Sunday and Monday, so I'll have to wait until Tuesday to get my fix... unless I want to go to the other coin store. All I would be buying there is either rounds I already have, or Constitutional silver. That's not a terrible idea though, so we'll see. Sometimes when the price drops, people go all out and buy all the stock they have of silver quarters and dimes. It's funny though, because on $1,000 face value, they only save maybe ten bucks or something. It's not a ton, but it's enough for some people.
Comment 2018-07-16 04:13:42 @brian.rrr   That sucks! It's terrible to think that someone has so little regard for other people that they just took what wasn't theirs. Hopefully you're able to find it. Maybe there are some identifying marks on it so the police could prove it's yours and was stolen.
Comment 2018-07-16 04:10:36 @sponge-bob   That BBQ looks delicious! I'm sorry you got ripped off. That really sucks. How did you find out the bills were no good?
Comment 2018-07-16 03:21:54 @djohan   You always eat at really fancy places, but somehow they're normally not expensive. Sorry this one was on the pricier side, but at least you didn't have to go far to get food while you were waiting. It looks delicious!
Comment 2018-07-16 03:20:09 @papa-pepper   That's great that you're going to have control over it. Sometimes circumstances lead us to doing things that aren't really the safest or best way to go. Hopefully you're able to get all the videos up and start having those checks roll in!
Comment 2018-07-15 23:15:18 @summertooth    You should have seen me trying to explain AOL and "you've got mail" to my teenage kids! They looked at me like they were about to drop me at a nursing home! Ha ha, that's funny. There's a lot that the younger generations will never understand. Although it's always been like that. Those are nice coins. It's a good prize. The chocolate is a nice bonus though. I might have double-stacked them and just eaten them together.
Comment 2018-07-15 23:12:30 @neoxian   Wow, that's a lot of Steem Rounds! You bought 4% of the stock yourself! Ha ha. Are you planning on selling some? I would imagine that someone should notice if you switched the dice. Platinum should be heavier than plastic. Then again, a lot of people don't notice lots of things. Congrats on the additions!
Comment 2018-07-15 23:09:30 @taskmaster4450   Yeah, most of the coins probably won't pan out, but some of them may and if you have an inexpensive way to get a pile of coins now, it could at least help out later down the line... even if it doesn't let you retire.
Comment 2018-07-15 23:01:51 @galenkp   Not many people are greeted by the king himself. Congratulations! How many fish did you catch? Are you going to cook the "fish" for dinner? I'm glad you're still having a great time with your family.
Comment 2018-07-15 22:52:54 @willsparks88   Looks like it was a very good day. Hopefully they gave you good prices so they could buy a lemonade with the money. Ha ha. I like that Stone Mountain one. That's not one you see every day.
Comment 2018-07-15 22:47:06 @sbsparts   You got your own gorilla head bars made? That's boss!
Comment 2018-07-15 22:36:51 @silversaver888   Oh, with gold that lovely, there's a reason to apologize! :D The Standing Liberty is amazing as well. One of these days I'm going to get some. :)
Comment 2018-07-15 22:24:42 @janton   If I think of something, I'll let you know. The main issue is that I don't know a lot about rednecks, so I don't know what would qualify.
Comment 2018-07-15 22:23:36 @silversaver888   Not clad?! My deep and humble apologies. I asked out of ignorance and did not realize such a beautiful coin actually existed. Also, I apologize for missing your post. It is a lovely coin and you are right to be proud of owning it.
Comment 2018-07-15 22:21:03 @janton   Glad to inspire! You should look up my old The Man with No Name Series. I left it unfinished thus far, but maybe I'll revive it some day. Prologue Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 4.1 (Side story) Feel free to let me know what you think. Don't bother upvoting if you like them though as they're long past payout. ;)
Comment 2018-07-15 21:02:27 @kerrislravenhill   I've had a number of deals that looked too good to be true on ebay. I ended up overthinking it and passed on them. I was glad I did every time as I would figure out the angles and I would have lost money. It's important to be alert, especially on ebay. I don't mind at all. I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, but it's open in another tab. Glad you were able to be inspired by us! :)
Comment 2018-07-15 20:57:09 @ronaldoavelino   I don't think it's rare at all. It's a 2016 after all. I found it available on JM Bullion.
Comment 2018-07-15 20:38:24 @teutonium   I look forward tot he pictures. Maybe you can have me over too! ;)
Comment 2018-07-15 20:21:06 @themanwithnoname   I don't think it's rare at all. It's a 2016 after all. I found it available on JM Bullion.
Comment 2018-07-15 20:13:24 @denmarkguy   Well, I'm glad you did! It's nice to have new people enter the competition. Sometimes people drop off, but like you said, those who stay in the League are much more likely to stay on Steemit. Glad to have you!
Comment 2018-07-15 19:55:57 @davedickeyyall   Stupid work, always getting in the way of our real projects.
Comment 2018-07-15 19:52:36 @janton   Aww, thanks, that's nice of you to say. I'm a talker, so writing is just clicking on the keyboard until those thoughts come out. Fortunately, that also helps me keep from saying some stupid things. I say a lot though, so not all of it gets filtered out. I'm glad I help keep you entertained. :)
Comment 2018-07-15 19:51:00 @gillianpearce   You're welcome! You earned it. You are one of the most consistent engagers, even when you're busy. I'll bet you'll get right back into things. Although if you need to take a break, enjoy it. You don't want to get burned out. I love your thanks for yourself. Brilliant! 😍 Glad you liked that. I saw an opportunity, and I took it.
Comment 2018-07-15 19:42:12 @silversaver888   Those are tiny! Did you have the Mercury dime gold-clad yourself?
Comment 2018-07-15 17:59:54 @abh12345   Ha ha ha, I sure read that one wrong!
Comment 2018-07-15 17:27:45 @fat-elvis   Thanks for the tips. Maybe next time I'll give it a go and see what happens. This time I figured it was going to be more hassle than it was worth since they were giving them away for free, but who knows? Maybe I can find some hidden gems.
Comment 2018-07-15 17:25:48 @davedickeyyall   Well done. You're making progress! What's next?
Comment 2018-07-15 17:24:45 @silversaver888   Wow, those are super tiny! It's a good thing you have them in cases or they could easily be misplaced. I hadn't realized someone had made them that little, but it seems like it was a good idea.
Comment 2018-07-15 17:21:09 @djohan   Sounds like a nice vacation! How long are you going to be staying there?
Comment 2018-07-15 17:18:42 @methus   Congrats, @methus! That's a score!
Comment 2018-07-15 17:18:12 @raybrockman   That's a great deal, Ray! Sorry I missed it. It's probably good I did though. I would have been waking the wife up to tell her about a great deal... and she would have been "a great deal" upset with me. Ha ha.
Comment 2018-07-15 16:33:36 @fat-elvis   Wow, you've given me a lot to think about. I went to a garage sale yesterday where I could have cleaned up on a bunch of free stuff. They were mostly things from old remodel projects and such, but I didn't really feel like putting tiny, inexpensive items on ebay or craigslist. It's not worth the effort for $0.10. Ha ha. I don't have a lot of room in my house because it's on the smaller side and the wife and I like to keep things uncluttered. That's one of the nice things about silver: if you have so much that it's getting in the way, you're doing something RIGHT!!! :D Thanks for the hint on the broken jewelry. I'll have to try giving that a shot. Although, I'm not set up for melting it yet, but I could always stockpile it until such time as I get the equipment.
Comment 2018-07-15 16:29:57 @silveringots   That sucks! It makes me wonder where all the other counterfeits go that are made by people who are not as blatantly a fraudster. Do I have any fake coins in my collection. Hmmm. I thought that ebay had shut down the guy's account? Did he just open another one?
Comment 2018-07-15 16:28:06 @uglysweater   It's interesting that you say that. Two weeks ago, @tarazkp wrote about personal responsibility in actions. I have been mulling this since he wrote about it. There are many people who will do things to us, either potentially good or potentially bad. It's up to us to determine what they will be. Some people might say harsh words, but if we don't accept the words, we don't have to let them affect our life. At the same time, people can tell us wonderful things about us and if we don't believe them, we can go on believing that we're not enough. People will say and do all kinds of things to us, but it's up to us to determine how we will respond. Will we be crushed by others? Will we permit others to build us up? Are we willing to admit that we might need to do things differently? If we have admitted it, will we actually change our actions? our actions are up to us! Are we willing to act?
Comment 2018-07-15 16:21:21 @teutonium   That would be nice if I had someone I could call who knew my collection and collecting habits enough that they could spot bar and coins that I would like. Then it would be like I had an extension of myself out there getting silver. I also have crypto and my family doesn't understand that. They don't think it's gambling like your family does. That would be an upgrade. My family considers it to be a scam. I would totally leave them outside on the hot sun Ha ha, that's funny. An alternative to that would be bringing them inside and allowing them to enjoy the sweetness of the lifestyle that your crypto gains bring you. Then you'll be able to rub it in their faces that when you were giving them good advice, they threw it back in your face. They'll get the crypto bug and the desire to make it big, but the large gains will have already taken place.
Comment 2018-07-15 16:17:15 @rentmoney   Done! I appreciate your encouragement and validation that it is a good idea. ;)
Comment 2018-07-15 16:16:24 @fat-elvis   What are you normally asking for when you head to the flea markets and such? Sterling silver? Gold? What are your buzz words?
Comment 2018-07-15 16:15:00 @headchange   That was a great tip! Thank you. I'm feeling more productive already. :D
Comment 2018-07-15 16:14:06 @cicisaja   I'd rather have a super power where all roosters are forced to stay at least 3 miles away from me. That would be excellent. Long comments don't necessarily mean greater rewards. They do help in the League, but it's important to know how to write engaging posts too. The length of the comments isn't everything. I'm not exactly sure how I'm working smarter, but if I have inspired you to improve yourself in some way, then good for you for seeking to do better! I hope you succeed.
Comment 2018-07-15 13:17:45 @headchange   You're welcome! I like encouraging people to keep going. It makes things more interesting when the competition is fierce here. Now about that "let's do it again" part. That is all well and good but I think maybe a nap is order first. The day hasn't officially started for me yet and I'm already thinking about taking a nap. Actually, I might just do that right now. Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement to take this step. Have fun getting a jump on the next round while I'm sleeping. ;)
Comment 2018-07-15 13:15:45 @cicisaja    what's a contest if there's nothing challenging at all It's called a Steemit Color Challenge. Ha ha ha. I'm glad you've found the community to be warm and welcoming. I have as well. Have a great week!
Comment 2018-07-15 13:13:57 @ronaldoavelino   I'm sorry, buddy! Hang in there. Remember, I'm pulling for ya. We're all in this together! -Red Green
Comment 2018-07-15 13:10:39 @abh12345   Right?! They take all the money. It's a good problem to have though. some shares in a bottom draw Is that a salvage diving operation?
Comment 2018-07-15 13:08:48 @welshstacker   I'm still new to delegating. My delegation to steemsilvergold was my first. I don't know how I did it. I just clicked on the link that silverstackeruk put up for someone else. I kept changing the numbers until it worked out to a bit more than 250SP. So, my question (in two parts): "If I wanted to up to the 500SP level, would I need to cancel my delegation, wait the week, and then send another delegation? Or can I just add more to top it off?"
Comment 2018-07-15 13:05:48 @lynncoyle1   Let's hope you're right. So far it has been a fairly successful post for me. I wouldn't mind doing it again. Feed the addiction buddy I intend to! Thanks for the support!
Comment 2018-07-15 13:04:33 @lynncoyle1   It was a pretty, awesome prize! And pretty prize. And awesome prize. And ... you get the idea. :P I could see how it would be draining. Everyone wants to give support, but if it's support that needs to be acknowledged, then you have to use more energy on it. You're doing a lot of work on both ends to keep things going: the take care of Brian and taking care of the people who care for Brian. You're one of the really good ones!
Comment 2018-07-15 13:01:45 @fat-elvis   Ah, sorry about that, man. Hey, still better than falling down the stairs! Ha ha. That's wise to keep some money in reserve. You never know when a great deal might present itself. I have started taking money with me when I leave the house. If I see a garage sale, I stop and ask if they have coins, etc... One of these days they're going to say yes and I'll be prepared.
Comment 2018-07-15 12:59:39 @welshstacker   That makes sense that it would need to be discussed. I think it could help, even if it's only small amounts. Thanks for presenting it!
Comment 2018-07-15 12:57:30 @silveringots   I guess if they're 100% silver, then as long as you get a good price, it's not terrible. You could just melt it down. I'm surprised that someone was willing to make him the stamps and dies. You'd think they would be more concerned about things like that. I guess some people will do anything for a bit of money. Did they ever catch the guy and put him behind some less precious metal bars?
Comment 2018-07-15 12:55:33 @papa-pepper   That would be cool to have your own pond. I have been wanting a decent-sized pond/small lake for a while. I think it would be fun to make my own as well. Yes, it would be a lot of work, but I could potentially make it to the specs I wanted. Customize it so it would be nice for swimming and fishing. It sounds like maybe it's on your list of things to do... eventually.
Comment 2018-07-15 12:53:48 @janton   I guess I don't have it as bad as some folks, then. What good is silver if you don't have anyone to share it with? I can always try to get more silver tomorrow. The coin stores around here are closed on Sunday. I think you accomplish your mission of making it interesting. It's a topic that I'm predisposed to be interested in anyways, so you have that going for you. Add in the fact that I may appear in the narrative at some point and you've really got something! Ha ha. @themanwithnoname rides again... through history!
Comment 2018-07-15 12:51:09 @rentmoney   Thank you! And I'm trying... I'm trying. Unfortunately all the coin stores are closed on Sunday. I'll have to either order online and wait, or wait and order in person tomorrow. Decisions, decisions. Maybe I'll have cookies for breakfast instead! :D
Comment 2018-07-15 12:49:42 @thedamus   Ha ha, see you just saved me from maxing out my credit card on a load of cheap generics. I was thinking of getting a meeelion dollars worth of rounds and then making a castle out of them. Thanks for looking out. My wife would have killed me. Or left me and taken the silver with! Ha ha, just kidding. She wouldn't leave me. I'm too good looking. ;)
Comment 2018-07-15 12:47:39 @janton   That too! All in all, it's a good knife. I'm thankful for it, and thankful for the friend who gave it!
Comment 2018-07-15 12:46:51 @janton   Oh, that would be a good one. You very well could get me with one of those. I'll keep an eye out for it.
Comment 2018-07-15 12:45:27 @abh12345   It's much earlier for me. The day hasn't even started yet. Ugh. At least it's Sunday and I can take a nap later. Gifting and receiving steem are both great activities for any time of day! I'm going to try to get money together for another crypto buy. I just tend to spend my money on silver when I get more of it. Ha ha
Comment 2018-07-15 12:41:45 @cicisaja   Thank you! And congratulations to you as well. You're doing well. It's challenging to place near the top so you're obviously working hard. Keep at it. :)
Comment 2018-07-15 12:37:51 @abh12345   I could see how you would think so, but no. I'm just up way too freaking early! Once I started going I just kept rolling, so it ended up being a little longer than I first anticipated. Yeah, if you're posting those replies to people with all their scores, you could get a few points for that. I'm looking forward to when Steem price pops, but enjoying the low prices to acquire more Steem more easily. You're welcome! Although the rooster tip is also self-serving. I don't like them as neighbors. ;)
Comment 2018-07-15 12:30:24 @abh12345   Is it just me or did last week just fly by? It seems like just yesterday I was up way too early and commenting on how well everyone did. @abh12345, thank you for the lovely prize. It's just my size! How did you know? I have already powered it up to continue my long-term growth on Steemit. I don't know how many times I've gotta a prize, but it's been quite a few times and I appreciate the extra padding the prizes have meant for my SP levels. Being a part of the Engagement League has been one of the driving factors in my growth on Steemit. Thank you! Also, Asher, well done on your placement in the League! You did really well. :) @curie, thank you for generously sponsoring the leagues so that Asher's prizes can be dispensed. I would participate without the prizes, but they make it so much sweeter. It's nice to know that my work from the previous week was appreciated and that I have a little more to power up as a result. Thank you! @janton, you're unstoppable, good sir! 969 comments, that's crazy! I don't know how you find the time to do it, but good on you. You've become a networking/engagement master and your fifth win in a row is well-deserved. @lynncoyle1, you put on a great showing there and even edged @glenalbrethsen! That's an accomplishment for sure! Both of you do an incredible amount of commenting and engaging, so it's no surprise that you would be at the top of the engagement league. :) @gillianpearce you were right there in the thick of it, although I seem to remember you saying that you were going to slow down a bit, so if this is your slowing down, I don't want to know what your scores would have looked like if you had kicked it into high gear. Ha ha. Well done. @smithlabs you had an impressive showing across the board. Good number of comments and second level comments. Lots of upvotes given. Plenty of unique votes. That's a really great showing and we'll look for more from you in the future. @themanwithnoname, you're handsome and amazing. You're so smart and talented. I'm proud of you how you're always trying new things, even when they don't end up working out. Keep that fearless spirit. I want you to know that I like you a lot and think you're the coolest. Thank you for inspiring me. This world would be a dark place for me without you. I'm so glad I'm in my life. :P @funbobby51, @cicisaja, @rentmoney, @headchange, and @denmarkguy, great job placing in the Top 10! It's not an easy place to get to, but you did the work to make it. I'm proud of all of you because I know the work that it takes to get here. You have done well. Now let's do it again this week! Thanks to everyone for making this group a lot of fun. It's nice to see you all out there commenting and adding value to the Steem blockchain. One of these days the price is going to pop and all the hard work that we've put in now is going to pay off handsomely. At least that's the hope. Note: Not investment advice. Do your own research. Also, fly your own kite. Mind your own shoelaces. And never buy a rooster. "Those who hope in advice from a man who won't put his name behind his words are probably great candidates to give aid to deposed Nigerian princes who ask for help by email." -themanwithnoname
Comment 2018-07-15 12:03:03 @gdwcoins   I'm in on it. Sent you the SBD for two spots. :)
Comment 2018-07-15 11:59:21 @taskmaster4450   That's nice to hear that Steemit is removing the delegations from the flagging accounts. I had a friend who got hit with them as was confused as to why it was happening. We mainly hear about non-action from Steemit, so it's encouraging to hear they're actually responding. It's likewise great to hear that Steemians are coming together as a community to help each other recover when they get flagged by those accounts. Hopefully we'll leave this chapter better than we were before.
